      Something that happend to me.

I tried to WILD last night and this happened to me.

I woke up in a weird state, my eyes were barely open. I saw this lady sitting right beside my bed. I thought it was a dream so I smiled at her because she looked friendly, and she smiled back. She rose in the air a few feet, and turned into something very ugly. She jumped on my chest and I hear a sound like my stomach was rumbling, but much louder. I tried to fight it because it felt like a very evil presence. I said Jesus out loud, and it stopped.

Has this ever happened to you? I thought it was SP at first, but this was much to evil of a presence...

It was SP, you were right. Well actually, it's a hypnogogic hallucination. I've had the evil presence sensation, and heard creaking doors and footsteps. I've never seen visuals, but I know people who have.

I have experienced somethin similar not long ago. I woke up and there was this woman holding me very tightly. I stayed calm because i knew it was sleep paralysis but then this voice in my head screamed which made me jump out of bed.

Twist, I see you met *old hag* (i.e., sleep paralyis).

Old Hag is caused by sleep paralysis lingering after waking. Sleep paralysis happens during REM dreaming, and prevents you from acting out your dreams by blocking motor signals from your brain. The classic symptoms are - unable to move, a feeling of weight on your chest and/or unable to breath, a sense of a presence, fear or panic, and some vague (usually greyish) object in the centre of the visual field which is often interpreted as a person (or nowadays, an alien). The "Old Hag" name arose from people putting the symptoms together to form the interpretation that an old hag was sat on your chest, pinning you to the bed.

Below is my one and only experience with *old hag*:

It's scary, but just remember - it's all in your head.

Something strange happened to me today. When I was taking a shower, I heard a laugh in my head, and i felt very weighed down like SP was happening. I fell over and waited until the feeling stopped. I don't like this at all...

Mhm...as the peoples above answered, that's part of what happens normally when you're borderline awake and asleep...hypnagogic imagery it's called. Everyone has it a bit different...I tend to have similar "hallucinations" like you where I'll see bits of reality and bits of dream so to speak...maybe my room as it normally is, but with an evil entity...Don't worry about it, try to ride it out, and if you're able to convince yourself it's not real, you may be able to turn it into something enjoyable. By just relaxing in that state, and enjoying ride, while remaining aware, you may very well be able to enter a lucid dream.

Holy poop...now that I read your mot recent post I'm worried...that's not a normal place to experience any of that, if you're wide awake. I suggest arranging a doctor's appointment...a laugh and heavy weight, Sp feeling...no, not good, especially in the middle of the day. Did you happen to be severly sleep deprived? That can happen when your in defecit sometimes. Still, get to a docor please.

I got plenty of sleep the night before. At first I thought the laugh was from outside the door so i didn't think much of it, but then that SP feeling hit... Also, when I left the bathroom, my parents were outside the house, and said they were for the whole time I was in the shower... I haven't had any problems since then, but that was very odd...

if anyone still cares, no more strange things have happened to me lately. I think this experience has scared me out of trying to WILD again... SP is terrifying.

I can't argue with you there... but there are plenty of other techniques for inducing LDs, I'm sure you'll find one that works!

Aww, Don't worry about it. Just spend some time hanging around the forums, Talking to people about general Lucid stuff- And you will gain the confidence to try again. As for the Evil presence, In a past attempt to WILD i have felt that sensation, But i tried again- And i honestly felt nothing at all. Just a bit of banging around or something.

Either way, just like you said SP is a spooky thing.
But remember, It's all in your head!
You reveal that a reveal check reveals nothing.

When I've tried to WILD I always end up feeling watched. Like there's someone there. I really don't like it So I've only tried when I wasn't home alone. Crybaby- that's me

Met a girl some time ago who had also experienced the old hag - and there's some english documentary about SP. It's very nice.

That's a common feeling, I've felt it before. I didn't finish the WILD either, it's really creepy. I don't blame you...

Remember people, bad things happen in sp because you're letting your body's survival instinct take over. For example, when you can't move, your mind thinks "something must be holding me still" and panics. When you can't see everything in your surroundings your mind thinks "what if something is watching me and I can't see them?" and panics.

If you go into WILDS expecting sp your mind and body will eventually stop fearing it, thus ending the feeling of evil presences, hallucinations, and being watched.

As for the post about the laughing and sp in the shower, hearing actual voices in your head while conscious is a danger sign that something is mentally wrong. See a doctor

I don't think I've ever had sleep paralysis.

The closest I get to SP is being very lightly asleep but unable to truly wake myself. Before I started having lucid dreams, I would try to wake up when I felt that falling sensation because it creeped me out, but I'd have repeated false awakenings instead. Nowadays, of course, I like to take advantage of the tingling feeling and the inability to wake up to have WILDs.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

BTW, that thing about sleep paralysis in the shower sounds kind of like narcolepsy, where people just suddenly crash into REM at odd times of the day. But I don't think you need to see a doctor unless something like it happens again. An isolated incident might just be nothing more than a fun story to tell.
