      LD Club for College?

I've been applying to colleges (got accepted into Pitt!) and I've been reading up on all the weird and diverse clubs you can join. I know BU has a people watching club and they actually got funded by the school to go to canada ... to watch people. I was just thinking if a LD club would work and if anybody would be into it. I guess the agenda would be once a week discuss dreams and techniques ... basically what this website does but without the interwebs. Maybe the school would fund copies for that Art of Dreaming book that is namedropped so many times on the forums.

I guess the possibility of me starting this is
A)How much better will I be in a few years to actually teach this from experience
B)if I can get enough sleep in college to still LD.

Just wondering what you thought about this

Even if you don't have a lot of experience with LDs, you probably have still or WILL still absorb all the information available on the subject, so you would still be a really good teacher!

As for sleep... it depends on you. I only need 4 hours to LD. There will be many nights in college where you won't get enough sleep, but there will also be many where you WILL.

This LD club thing sounds really really cool. I think if I were you, I would make it more general like just "dreaming club" or something. I think that would attract more people since I think many would draw a blank upon seeing the words "lucid dreaming."

We have so many weird clubs at UW-Madison. "Meat-eaters" is one.

Meat-eaters club? My school has a Pie Club... they eat pie, nothing else. Its $1 a piece, but any left over money at the end gets put toward a big free pie day.

I agree with Mes, "Dreaming club" would be better than lucid dreaming club. Lucid dreaming is something a lot of people don't know, but everyone knows what regular dreaming is!

Make sure to send some of them here!

I think that's a kickass idea!! The only thing I would see as the drawback is that we live in a microwave society. People want results and they want results NOW. Failure can diminish a person's ambitious spirit. The only way to pull this off successfully is by romanticizing what LD'ing is, supe it up. Convey it in a way that would make a person want to do it there and then. Once you have their undivided attention, along with their dropped jaws...tell them about the patience they must have. Tell them they must be prepared them for the long haul.

#2, yes, but not at first. You gotta get used to your new place and the dorms can be loud. Once you're used to it you'll get more sleep than you did at home.

It probably would be better if it was a Dreaming Club to make it reachable to more people. I still want to specify it so people don't think its about interpreting dreams to read the future, because I don't believe in that and I don't want that to be a focus (no offense to those here that do believe this). And of course I will reference them to this website! This forum has given me all the info and lovin' I needed for LD. I may not be a LD master like some of you, but I probably know all the fundamentals enough to teach it.

And yes, the people watching club is crazy, but in a good way
