Has anyone been using New Energy Ways to stimulate the body to aid lucid dreaming? It is a good method to induce Astral Projection via Lucid Dreaming. i.e stimulating the energy centres is generally good for any New Age Practice. Has anyone tried it here?

I was just wondering, who was it that came up with the idea of this chakra stuff? I see people mention it now and then but I have never heard anything about who made up the idea.

To my knowledge, the concept is from India originally. It is pretty "ancient" in their teachings. Easily followed back way before the fictional tale of christ got rolling... Certainly not newage [sic - (rhymes with sewage). ]

the idea of a chakra system has been around for a long time, some records date hinduistic yoga as being 15 thousand years old. im sure there isnt one guy who made a chakra system anymore than one guy made math....its probably something that kind of evolved with yoga.

Well I know its been around for thousands of years but it just seems like something that developed out of nothing. I mean is there proof of these chakra things or is it just different locations on the body that were figured out over time? Or are the chakra things just another religious point of faith?

Yea, I started trying that New Energy Ways thing a while back. But I think I didnt stick with it long enough to get much results.

Hello, I'm glad you posted this topic. Though I agree with PP - maybe it should be moved to Attaining Lucidity? There are MANY people using NEW, so I (personally) don't see any problem with double posting . Especially if it will help others. I believe at least the first textual reference to chakras is found in the Vedas (circa 1,500 - 600 BCE). It is largely believed that the Vedas were mostly written by the Aryans who invaded India around this time. And then from there were evolved by Yogis in the Upanishads and Yogi Suttas and became an important part of Yoga philosophy. I decided I would look into it, and I've had the site bookmarked for several months now. I haven't actually gotten into it yet, though so it'll have to wait. I'm sort of reply just to keep it on the "list of your replies". BTW, I don't really want to learn it for the increased lucidity, although I've been following the general idea and my dreams have become so vivid. ^^ Sun Oct 23 ==================================== vv Thurs Feb 23 (Edit) I have just now gotten around to practicing the exercises. I have noticed something. In addition to WILDing, I have OBEs, and AP. The thing they have in common is that I lay really still on my back. During then, my legs would really buzz and tingle and those feelings would crawl all the way up body. After the feelings surge past the stomach, that's when I really have short breaths and SP sets in. Now, the connection is that doing the NEW exercises, they inspire the very same feelings I have been having all along. I'm sort of a natural at this, so we'll see where this takes me .
