Unintentional WILDers

Are any of you folks what you consider an unintentional WILDer?

I know it's probably not very common to hear someone say that, because we typically agree that WILDing is somewhat of a hard task; it typically requires focus.

I too agree that it is quite a hard task, as 9 times out of 10 I cannot complete a WILD when I try.

But I seemed to have unlocked an unknown potential of mine from the time I have spent at this forum.

Lately, what has been happening is I simply do a WBTB and find myself engulfed in a WILD that I did not even try for. I find that the WBTB works better for me later in the sleep (like 6-7 hours) verses an earlier attempt (maybe 4.5-5.5 hours).

The most vivid experience which finally assured me this was really happening without trying occured this morning. I believe it was at about 7am. I had woke up with a stomach ache, and rolled around for more than a half hour. I drank some water, and noticed that I was feeling comfortable again.

I quickly dozed off and left consciousness. I literally awoke back consciously in the dream scene as I was envisoning it, as it was finalizing. I saw trees and the environment actually developing before my eyes quickly. The scene was so intense that as I immediately became lucid I crashed the event and woke up. I think it was so intense because I have never witnessed a scene develope like this before as it did here; I have always already been in the scene when lucid.

This is now the 3rd or 4th time I have had somewhat of a WILD without attempting to do so. And these just started occuring lately after being at the forum. It is incredible to me. I love it. The problem is sometimes it is less vivid and exciting. For some reason it seemed incredibly vivid and clear this morning for the short duration.

Needless to say, I am now becoming more interested in lucid dreaming than ever before. I'm starting to witness the true vividness that others have talked about. It is truly an amazing thing to witness. I wish everyone out there could just understand what they can do with their own mind.

You mention a break in consciousness. Believe it or not, I've experienced something similar. I was unconsciously sleeping in on a Saturday, when suddenly I hear a paper rustle, interrupting my incoherent thoughts. I suddenly, consciously ask myself "Where did that come from? My door is shut!" and suddenly I am in the dream. What surprised me is that it only took a couple seconds. I saw a paper, a professor, a desk, and then an entire university (mimicked a technical college I once visited). Very vivid. I had a lot of control, and clearer, more conscious creative thinking. Much more than with DILDing, most of the time. I could change the center of gravity so that I could walk up walls!

But there's a break in consciousness... So is it really WILD?

I don't know if it meets the general definition of a WILD. It is the closest thing I can compare it to however. I don't know if you could consider it wake-induced, but it occurs right after being awake. In the few like this, I have not done reality checks to become conscious.

It is like a flash and I am conscious but in a dream. I see no hynogogic imagery in any before phase. I seem to fall asleep somewhat quickly too before it happens. Since I literally saw the scene developing this morning, it feels to me like I somehow stepped into a WILD as it was beginning, without actually staying conscious and trying to do so.

It seems like the simple thought of lucid dreaming before bed is somehow causing it too happen. It's not often or very regular, but it is odd to me and is happening.

I've actually had this happen many a time to me. It sounds like you have figured out something that does work for you though...keep WBTB'ing if you have time.

In my experience, I usually wake in SP though and go into a WILD from there, like you said, in the later hours of the morning, though it hasn't happened recently.

It sounds like you've had some pretty intense experiences with this, perhaps you can incubate more.
