      Post Trouble keeping thoughts together

When I first lay down in bed my mind will be clear, but after a few minutes I will think of random things that make no sense at all. I tried focusing on an object, circle, or color, but it doesn't help.

I heard a technique about imagining a red dot. The more I thought about the dot, the more things happened. Such as the dot turning into a sphere, and the sphere rolling down a ramp, and someone catching it. Gradually I lose conscientiousness and I am not able to focus my thoughts.

Any tips? I believe you all call these WILDs? Sadly enough, the only time I can get a lucid dream is when I take Benadryl (allergy medicine). It is basically a 90% chance to get an LD with no effort whatsoever to obtain them. Of course the effect diminishes after one night, so that method won't do.

Is there any reason why I am able to induce lucid dreams while on allergy medicine, but not normally? Maybe something to do with antihistamines...?

Random questions before bed are fun!

      Have a good morning friends

I know what u meam about the random thoughts thing because i do the same thing. I am fine when i lay down my mind is clear but then all these random thoughts just come from nowhere (i'm like p*** off) and it makes it very hard to fall asleep then. But the last few nights i have just let the random thoughts do their thing and eventually hypnagogic imagery takes over leading me to sleep.

According to wikipedia, Benadryl increases serotonin, and this can cause the REM rebound effect if you take it before bed, and increas dream vividness and length and improve chances of lucidity.
Benadryl also causes delirious hallucinations on larger doses, so there is a good chance that it affects dreams even on low doses, influencing dream vividness, content, and awareness.

About your problems with thoughts distracting you, this is a common problem with WILD and with meditation. I suggest that you read some of the WILD tutorials and try the suggestions there. But in any case remember that WILD is an advanced technique, and it takes some time and practice to succeed in it, so take your time, if you continue to practice the WILD technique you will gradually become better at it.

Take a look at this link for a list of some WILD tutorials:
