yea the only RC method that seems to me that could be effective would be that one. it's just when i wake up i probably won't remember to do one haha

Hence the practice of doing RCs during the day.. so you train your brain to remember to do them when it's most important!

I used to do them, a lot. I used them during dreams only AFTER I already had a suspicion that I was dreaming. Except for the first and maybe the second times I became lucid. Those times I was just dreaming about school, though it was normal and I thought to myself, better do a reality check.... OMG I BREATHED THROUGH MY NOSE!!!! I'M DREAMING!!!! Everyone looking at me like wtf?!!? lol.

However, now I just suddenly realise I am dreaming, can't remember why most of the time. But RC's are definitely good for keeping your lucidity while you are lucid. Too many times I have forgotten how to reality check because I hadn't been practicing IRL. One specific time I can recall right now is when I KNEW I was lucid and just had to RC before I tried to go and jump off the roof or some crazy shit, and I was like DAMMIT!!!! how the fk do I RC?
I couldn't remember any.... I lost all lucidity very soon after and didn't have much chance to remember.

So I say do RC's but don't get too pre-occupied with them. Focus more on the actually sleeping part

I will do a reality check only when something out of the oridinary occurs, not an extreme oddity but little things i do it because anything to help me become lucid is a good thing in my opinion!

Every once in a while I will do an RC but I have never gotten an LD from one before. I tried lots of RCs for one day and then got bored.

I have never had a lucid dream induced by a reality check, but I still do them. Why? Because they keep my mind on LDing and they remind me that I'm serious about the whole thing. There's a bit of autosuggestion at play here.
