      Crystals and dreaming

I'm curious if anyone else has tried experimenting with crystals and dreaming? I've had some bizzare effects with certain kind of crystals and I would like to share with you all and hopefully get common input.

A while back I stuck a clear crystal quartz shard under my pillow because I've heard they can enchance your ablility to remember your dreams. Well it turns out that I was able to remember at least 5-6 dreams a night! It was amazing! Unfortunetly weeks after using the crystal I realized it had a strange effect on my psyche side of sensing death... Which I won't go deep into it since it's not dream-related.

(edit: Ok. Maybe I should explain it to give more clarity. XD What I meant of sensing death was I was able to feel when someone was going to die. Not as in a gut feeling but as actully feeling their emotions and how they are going to die. My aunt for example who I haven't seen since I was eight years old died of old age. While I was at work around 2pm I had this extremely dreadful sense of death-like presences beind me. As if I should of died at that moment. It made me scared and confused but at the same time I felt calm and that it was my time to die. Later when I got home I told my sister about it and she shocked me by telling me that our aunt died at the same time I was experiancing this. The second experience was when I was driving to work and I felt a sharp pain behind my head. I suddenly felt sad for the people I knew. The kind of sadness of not wanting others to cry over me. This was not the way I would wanted to die. Later on that day I learned that a friend's husband has died at home from a blood clot in the brain. He was the only one at home at the time

It reeeallllly freaked me out. )

After having weird experiences I stopped using the crystal for months out of fear of opening a pandora's box in my head. I now have a more undertanding of what happened and I wanted to try the whole crystal experiance again. Only problem was I lost my original crystal! X_X So I bought me a new crystal but it has veins/cracks coarsing through it. It gives me the same effect of allowing me to remember nearly all my dreams but strangely it increases the amount of nightmares. Has anyone had any experience with using crystals as dream aids?

Tonight I'm trying something new. I learned that clear quartz like the one I've been using acts like an energy amplifier to it's surroundings and other crystals, amethyst increases mental strength.(For LD), and magnet beads which I'm not sure exactly what it will do but I've heard they help dreams. I added them all in one bag under my pillow and I will see what it will do.

      Experimenting is fun.

Interesting. I have heard of this before, but I think it works more like a placebo - you believe that the crystal will affect your dreaming and it does. Either way, I'll stick some amethyst under my pillow tonight and see what happens. Maybe I'll have an LD.

I'm hoping for an LD too.

I'm not sure about the whole influencing and not realizing part considering the strange side effects crystals can have on a mind on some people. o_x; Perhaps I should of explain that a little more in the first post.

Yah, well it could be a Placebo, maybe it's the crystals actually affecting youre brain. It's well known to the scientific community that crystals concentrate energy. I also beleive that scientists have not come close to idenifying all the different forces in this world like heat and light and such. It took us some 5,000 years to discover radio waves lol well anyway, this has inspired me to use a high powered doughnut shaped magnet under my pillow. I got it out of my levitron

      I love experiments

Well it's 7am I feel fully energetic after going to sleep at 2am. Maybe it's the magnets. *lol* I didn't have any nightmares but I did have a repetiative location in my dreams. Something that has to do with Kingdom Hearts game in the savannah. XP This has only been one day so I must see what happens the next few nights.

I would like to hear other peoples experiences too~ *Eats the pie* P:

Personally I think it's mostly untrue supersticion (not to offend). However yes, the placebo effect can definetly do something for you. I'm sure that will help cetain people.

It may be worth a try for me, although I'm sceptical of the validity of the idea... it can't hurt. (I hope)

When I first read this "placebo" instantly came to mind, just like several other people. I hope mentioning this doesn't ruin the affect now.

A lot of things we don't know about are possible though.

Nope! It just gives me more of an understanding of what's really going on. X) If I am tricking my self then It makes me wonder what else I can trick my self into? Maybe if I study more about placebos I might find a way to enduce my self into LD?

I'm glad to hear other people's opinions. If this was any other board I most likely get the smart ass n00b treatment. XD

Well I'm glad to hear it. That's basically what you come here to learn - how to trick your mind into inducing lucid dreams.

Everyone's so quick to dismiss your experiences as the placebo effect, but some people just have more of that "psychic" energy than others - or just know how to recognize it for what it is. I'm an analytical and logical person, but I believe there's more to this world than what we can physically see and touch.

The crystal I was using before was only 2 1/2 inches long. So maybe smaller crystals might work as well. :3

      Clean? I don't think there's any nessessary preparations. ^_^;

What I normally do is put them under my pillow. Sometimes I grasp it under the pillow (To keep contact) before I fall asleep.

Tell me what happens later, O'kay? :3

Ok, well I tried this whole thing out last night and here are the results.

First of all, I took 3 pieces of Quartz, and one piece of Amethyst and put them in my pillow case (yes *ow* it hurt my head) but it was worth a try.

As far as increasing vividness, I didn't really experience anything much different than the norm for me, but there WERE a couple interesting points. First, my dreams felt like they were more "directional" as in they actually made sense rather than something like "eating a twinkie while hunting down UPS people with a sniper rifle and hanging out with a rhesus monkey named Phil" sort of thing. (yes I actually had a dream like that). The other thing that happened, and was Very Noticable was that, when I woke up in the morning, I felt INCREDIBLY refreshed. Usually on school nights i'm stuck with about 10 hours of hw and I get to sleep around 12. Last night I managed about 5 hours of sleep, yet when I woke up, I felt like I had slept 14, and I was surprisingly ready to get up, and head out early for a morning coffee. Overall, didn't aid too much in the dream, but I was sooooo surprised that I actually felt like getting out of bed when I woke up I will DEFINATELY continue the use of these crystals. Who knows what effects they will have on you, but I'd say go for it! It's definately worth a try.

It's 6:30 here and I just woke up moments ago feeling fully energtic. I never had that before until I started adding the amethyst with a clear quartz. I tried looking up other properties of amethyst and what I get the most is that it acts as a healing stone to calm the mind, enhance mental strength, stability, and vigor. It also called a cure for insomnia and nightmares and makes the intuition sensitive to understanding that outside of scientific reasoning. So I guess while the person is sleeping it calming the mind. Perhaps that's why your dreams were making more sense?

As for my dreams, it was more of a repetitive location again. Just different events will take place in each dream. I could remember less dreams this time but that might be do to my sister constantly waking me up three times.

      Precious items...

Im not an expert...(away from it) but after many searches and some experiences i´ve made, i can tell crystals are very precious items!its very interesting to use them and see which one does better a certain task.Anyway i respect the rule that says that a crystal should be cleaned and energized before using it.In doing so, the crystal and you stay kind of tuned into each other and better results can be achieved.
Crystals deal with energy, and when you bought one it contains energy that was passed to it from the contact with various people till it gets to you. This can contain negative energies so i always clean my crystals and energize them.
There are so many different ones and with several applications...i only knew some of them but i prefer to practice well with one that knowing many but only superficially.
Amethyst is one of my favourites and i find it very usefull for dreaming and meditating.it helps you to focus your mind and also kicks away any nightmares you have.(if i have one of these stones when i was about 12-15)!
I also noticed that my dream recall gets better with amethyst and also with quartz.several others can help too but now im interested in the quartz properties and also in pyrite which i find quite interesting. Some people says that some crystals should not be wear in bed, so a nice one to start is the amethyst.(great stone)
I also believe that the vibrations we feel when falling asleep can be even more powerfull with the use of this items, kind of amplified.Well, as i said in the begining im new to this stuff(only some months into it) but i find it very interesting and i like to hear some other opinions and share points of view.

      Stay well

A lost soul. Have been trying to obtain info on stones and crystals. I am in need badly of info as I have visions which are followed by a view of smooth polished black stone sprinkled with a clear liquid. Whenever this occurs, the vision is always true, always happens. What is signifigance of polished black stone? What type could it be, and what is it's signifigance. Any info or ideas you may have please forward to [email protected].

Most crystals are composed of some kind of platonic solids structure. Those things have been on my mind lately, so I'd be willing to give it a try. Just have to get my hands on some.

As for the placebo effect, I was considering putting some M'n'M's in a pill bottle and labeling it "Lucid Dreaming Pills". Then taking one every night before bed to see what kind of effect it would have.

A little science on the energy of crystals. I don't know much about this topic, but hey, I figured this link might be somewhat interesting to some.
