Thread: DV Meetup???

Hey, i've seen pics on DV where members have met up etc, just wondering if there is like any future big meet up planned because i wouldn't mind meeting all of you lot on here, would be a laugh, just wondering, this thread may not even be in the right place but any info would be great, thanks!

well, first you need to find people who are willing to do some traveling, and who are all in the same vicinity. I started a DV map a while back on Frappr.

It's about time there was another "convention" soon. I got plenty of vacation time to use up - I'm in. Where to?

Well i'm in the UK and i know theres alot of people in the US, i'm going on holiday with my parents to Vancouver for a week in the summer, then driving down to San Francisco for about 4 days and then up to Yosemite for about 3 days, however it would be selfish for it to abide around my times, i doubt it would anyways but thats when i'm in the states, i think its late July timethis year, and its short notice.

last I checked there were users from literally around the globe

Lol, i know that but i just assumed that the US would be the ideal place since most of the users come from their i think, i don't know, i didn't think things through did i

The biggest obstacles to an officially organized event are:

1) The member is under 18 and cannot travel feely
2) The member is over 18, but has family, school, or job committments and cannot travel freely

That really only leaves a very small number of members that can meet up. Most of the time, it's just a hand full of members that meet up at a time.

I wish we could all have a big DV meetup. How cool would it be to have a DV flash-mob show up in the Mall of America and shout "ARE YOU DREAMING???" at the stroke of noon???

Yeah, I suggested a DV convention a while ago. It would be so incredible. Sigh...

I wish something like that were to be organised, i would be awesome, but i tell you, if i win the lottery, i'd pay the fares for flights and hotel fee's for each and every member who wanted to do it!

Quick question: Do you play the lottery? If not how do you intend on winning it? I want in on this scheme of free money of yours.

I wonder how many of us would actually hate each other in real life. Not that I'm a "hater" but, surely, we wouldn't all get along.

Well, I don't know, maybe I'm underestimating people in general. I've got to stop doing that.
