If you try to meet God in your dream, then you're just going to get what your subconscious constructs as the idea of God - and since many of us are from a Western Culture it's likely to be a 'man' which just plays into the monotheistic thing that many of us have been taught our whole life. Unless of course your subconscious acts on other ideas that you've come in contact with.
