Hey, sorry for all these posts i've been making, i'm just a very curious guy, right i was just thinking about 10 minutes ago about how everyone goes on about doing little things in their lucid dreams like flying, killing someone etc etc, but there is something i'd like to try, we live a life in waking life, what about if we had a life in our lucid dreams, we have a big house, a good job we enjoy etc, we live, we die, we age, the life could be in a fictional place etc, has anyone ever considered living two lives, one in waking life and one in your dream world? I'm sure its fun to try little tasks such as flying and having god-like powers but a life that you dream to have could be lived within your dream world. Once going to bed you would enter one life, once waking up you would enter your normal life etc, maybe base it over a certain time until you get bored of it, re-enter it every time you have a lucid, it's probably already been mentioned but has anyone actually tried this, i think it would be awesome. What do you think?

We already do live two lives: Awake and dreaming. However, in the context you're talking about it may be interesting. You'd certainly have to learn how to have greater continuity than we generally do in dream life, since dreams tend to be disjointed and unrelated to each other by varying degrees.

I sure don't have the kind of skill such a feat would require but it would be cool - kind of like a superhero/supervillain. With glasses I'm Clark Kent; without glasses I'm Superman!

lol, well surely it wouldn't be to difficult, i'm saying that living a second life within your lucid dream, everytime you become lucid just demand that you resume from where you last in your life within your dream world, when i'm next lucid i think i'm going to try this and see how it is, of course you would have to design your life first, demand what you want etc

Let us know how it works out. It's an interest concept indeed.

Why plan it in your dreams and waste time when you can plan it now, sum it all up in one word and demand this word in your dreams?

I have kind of thought of doing something similar. I am planning on having a continuos RPG type story that I will live through once I can attain lucidity consistently.

The way I think about it is: there's two sides to one life. By thinking of dreams more seriously it is possible to make them better. But no matter how I thought of dreams/LDs I've never seen much consistency. Sure, some DCs remember (vaguely) what I did before, but the scenery and other DCs are always random...

This is something I've thought about before... It's a really interesting concept. You could live as someone besides yourself, or have the life of your dreams (no pun intended ). The problem might be consistency though. Even if you demand you get the same thing, certain things could still be changed that make it hard to keep up with it.

I'm beginning to suspect I'm doing just that, living 2 lives, one awake and others in my dreams. I've had a few dreams where i rember past dreams with stable timelines in a consistant world. I'm hoping I'll remember more of these eventually.
