I have been really depressed at the moment, I havent been able to do LD's for ages now, I dont know what it is thats stopping me. Mabye it's because I didnt try for ages or I was having to much on my mind.

Has anyone else ever just suddenly not been able to do it? What could make this sudden change happen? How can you over come it?

Will I have to start over again or what?

Hey, you've probably had more lucid dreams than me so i'm not the one to speculate, so all i can do is offer my advice. Have you been under alot of stress recently? Had alot on your mind? think of a main aspect that could of preoccuied your mind, things like that can cause your mind to become crowded with worries and different emotions thus not being able to put your full focus towards lucid dreaming.

SATS, GCSE's...I suppose they are causing it, I had forgot about it for ages then I remembered this site and I came back to try and get answers on how to kick start my LD's again.

What I really want is someone to help me get back on track, Id like to try different methods to the ones I used before.

Lol, kinda funny that, i'm in your position right now, my final GCSE exams are a few months away and i got that on my mind but i'm doing revision and to be quite honest when i started revising i felt alot more confident. Ok i'm going to go into alot of detail. The method i am using i have been testing for only a day but feel free to give it a go, my biggest problem is being aware enough in my dreams to question whether i am dreaming or not. To become more aware in theory you need to apply more focus towards your awareness but when your mind is preoccupied with things like exams its really difficult to dedicate time towards building your awareness, so to do this, the aim is to try and clear your mind of these worries, things on your mind could include emotions, bad memories or repressed memories so the best way is to overcome these topics that occupy your mind. For example if your worried about exams, think about what it is that is causing you to worry, maybe your not doing so well in a subject, simply try and improve on this subject, if you cannot do it by yourself, seek help off someone else, and if you start doing things like this it will remove stress from your mind and remove the worry of exams, you will feel more confident, this clears space for you to dedicate your mind towards awareness, and if your more aware, hopefully you will carry this aspect in to your dreams and be able to question whether you are dreaming or not. You don't have to overcome everything but try to overcome things that lay heavy on your mind. If you need help with a particular issue then just pm me and i'd be more than happy to help you with your problems, also if your looking to question if you are dreaming within a dream then reality checks seem to be the most effective. If your in the same position as me, i'm in Year 11 and i'm not bothered if i achieve lucid dreams during my exams, i am practicing my reality checks and writing in my dream journal each morning. If i work on these things, after the exams i will have all the pressure of work and revision off my mind and in the summer holidays i can put all my focus into having lucid dreams. I'd rather achieve regular lucid dreams without having all the pressure on me, so just have a think bout what i've said and any problems just pm me.

Sorry if this is hard to understand, i do tend to ramble on a bit, plus sorry for any typing errors, its this damn dodgy wireless keyboard!

i have had 2 lucid dreams, both in which i had a very low level of awareness, this is why i'm trying to build my awareness level so that i can be aware enough in my dreams to ask myself "am i dreaming?" , the 2 lucid dreams i had occured randomly, i didn't expect to have them, but since i would love to have the experience i did in my first lucid dream i am striving to have another lucid dream. Year 10 is not too bad, but i will offer advice, if you feel asthough you are struggling in subjects now then get back up to standard because believe me its worth it when you get to Year 11, i only have 2 or 3 months till i break off school for revision and my exams will be over by the end of June, its a short period, i see no reason why you shouldn't be able to put a good amount of focus in to your awareness at this current time, its this sort of time in Year 11 that is difficult to give your full concentration, you don't need to be revising loads at your stage, and even if you have some exams in year 10, you don't have to revise 24/7, mock exams are a load of rubbish, they tell you nothing, lets be honest, your not going to put the amount of effort into your mock exams that you will for your proper exams, you will put loads more effort into you proper exams, just enjoy having spare time and try your best to get back on track!
