Nothing wrong with extra sleep as a teenager - as tommo said.
I would say that its also OK to play with your sleep patterns and/or escape reality (whatever that is?! - but like with taking drugs or meditating, this should only be contemplated by informed adults.
In Tantric dream yoga there are practices which involve retreating into a dark room for extended periods to dream/meditate, and I don't think they would have continued this ancient techique if it sent people mad (which presumably is why people are worried about someone escaping reality).
