The alternative technique might be easier because you don't run the risk of opening the door or turning around too soon (i.e. before you've conditioned your mind enough for the person to appear). This method also does not require a door. Just imagine the person behind you and expect him or her to tap you on the shoulder (it might help to specify a particular side). Not only can this method be done anywhere, but you will know when it is safe to turn around. Just keep visualizing the person behind you until you feel the tap.

I haven't tried the "tapping" version, sounds like a very good idea! Simply turning around didnīt work as I said. And on Saturday night, when I got a quite long LD I was in an old high school building; There were a number of doors, so I tried the teleportation trick. I thoght: 'Ok, when I open this door it will lead to the Sahara desert'. But when I opened the door it lead to a classroom with two students. Tried with the next door, and this time it was a maintenance/storage room I even asked for help to a DC that was over there thinking that maybe my subconscius would cooperate this way. But the guy turned out to be not very intelligent. I explained him that all the place was a dream and that I wanted to try the teleportation trick etc. But he said he had not idea on how to do it and was more worried about what would happen to him when I woke up
I have to start a DJ online to share a few surrealistic experiences like this that I have already had during LDing
