Let's learn from other's mistakes
I was thinking this morning what the best way for me to learn about LDing and everything related. I think learning from other's experiences is the best way, especially their mistakes. First, tell your story; then, tell your mistakes and how you could have done better. So I'll go first...
Story:
This morning was an interesting one for me. If you have seen some of my other posts you will know I have sleep paralysis disorder (go to here if you don't know what it is). This is such a blessing because it is so easy to WILD! And that is exactly what I did this morning. I woke up about 5:00 AM and stayed up for about half an hour. I then went back to sleep and woke up a little later paralysed. This is nothing new to me, so I usually just wait it out and try to jump out of it. This time, however, I tried to complete the WILD proccess, and IT WORKED. I became lucid right away and had an OBE (I was probably just dreaming it though, 'cause I don't think I believe in real OBEs as of now). I then did a spin to change surroundings while thinking of what I wanted to be doing (playing video games) and it worked. This is all fine and dandy but I did a few key things wrong...
Mistakes:
[list]- I did not say to myself "I will become lucid," "I will become lucid," and so on, so my dreams were pretty blury and confusing. I think if I were set on repeating this to myself my dreams would become even clearer.
- When in my dream, I did not close my eyes when I did the spinning. It made it a lot harder, first to actually spin, and second to go to the place I wanted to go.
- Lastly, and I think most importantly, I did not have a place in mind I wanted to go to (by doing the spinning thing) before I went to sleep. This made me have to quickly pick a place (in a room playing video games) and made for a pretty blury and quick LD.[list]
I hope ya'll can learn from my mistakes, now lets hear from you so the rest of us can learn from your mistakes.
