Now that I've introduced myself on the Newbie board, I already have an inquiry about a couple of things that happened to me this week in relevance to lucid dreaming and the many processes (WILD, MILD, etc.) one must go through to get it.

One: A few nights ago, I fell into slumber and something happened which has left me confused: I don't know if I began to obtain lucidity without really meaning to, or if it was just another dream within a dream. See, near the beginning (or not, if it was false) I was in a log cabin, cosy-looking and nothing really out of the ordinary; I was alone, nothing was surrounding me except the room and furniture/fireplace/etc. Then, suddenly, I said aloud/thought in my dream "This is a dream!" and the room became brighter... I looked at my hand and it became more avid than before. This is where I thought I was going to gain lucidity. However, my left field of vision was dark, as if my left eye was closed, so naturally I tried to make my eye open. This is where the conundrum appears: either it was only part of the dream (brightness, my left eye, the upcoming bit), or I forced myself too hard and caused my actual left eye to open, because when I "opened" it I saw my bedroom. I know it was my bedroom, because I went to sleep at about 3am and so it must've been five hours already, meaning the sun was up, so I could partially see my bed and ceiling fan. At this point, I don't remember the rest of my dream, it just breaks and I dreamed something else entirely. My question is, did I actually obtain lucidity and then lose it by opening my left eye, or did my dream just trick me? Is it possible to do this, to lucidly dream without preparing yourself to? (Wake Initiated, etc.)

Two: Last night, I wasn't actually trying to attempt lucid dreaming, but I thought to do a relaxation method to help myself fall asleep faster. I did the exhale counting one, breathe in and then out and count 1, 2, 3... well, when I reached around 100-110, out of nowhere my body jerked forward. Shoulder at the front, since I was lying on my side. It wasn't so much as a violent jerk, but rather very unexpected, and I panicked, I had no idea if it could happen along with weird sensations. Right after this push, I felt a vibration pulse inside me. I'm sure the vibration is part of the sensation one might feel during WILD or whatever, but the random jerk forward seems strange to me. Can this happen, or was it due to the fact I just couldn't relax myself all the way? I also need to stop panicking everytime my body thrums or I get near the lights/noises one hears during WILDing/etc. It sucks when I become so nervous I feel the last 30 minutes amounted to nothing!
