Thread: Attaining Natural Ability

I've been very interested in lucid dreaming and have been keeping a dream journal pretty frequently since probably the start of the year. I've had maybe 6 or 7 lucids in that time (I know that's few.. i've worked hard though).

After a vacation last weekend I sort of stopped keeping my dream journal (just for this week) but I continued my intentions to lucid dream and remember my dreams. Although I haven't had any LD's this week, my dreams have become more vivid and I wake up each day thinking "damn that was fun last night in my dreams". It's almost as if every night I realize I am dreaming and so I enjoy the alternate reality. I can't recall any specific times when I took control or even said out loud "i am dreaming" but the dream feeling follows me in the dream and I am aware of it.

My question is that is it possible to attain the 'natural ability' that many of lucid dreamers have here on the forums. I'd love to build up to it considering i've had to work so hard to have few LD's myself. what do you guys think? and to those who have the natural ability (who don't have to try all the crazy induction techniques and don't do loads of reality checks) how do you induce your dreams and how did you realize you were naturally able to lucid dream?
