Last night I decided to have my first attempt at WILD, after reading up on it for about an hour I thought I could at least give it a good attempt, so I get into bed I get as comfortable as possible, lying in silence.

After about a minute I start to see random colours, not very colourful, I'd call the most common colour a metallic beije, but I did get the occasional blue and red which was nice, then I heard a slight ringing at one point. I was lying in bed for about an hour then I gave up. I got an occasional spasm and I thought this might be the jolts or vibrations that people often describe but I'd say it was just a result of tiredness.

Did I show any common signs of a WILD on course to being successful?

Also, I had a fan on low for half of it, does sound actually matter, does it have to be really silent?

      Thanks.

"Behold, I am not Gandalf the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am Gandalf the White, who has returned from death. You have no colour now, and I cast you from the order and from the Council." - Gandalf to Saruman, The Two Towers

"Men of Gondor and Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship... but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when all hope comes crashing down, but it is NOT this day! This day, we fight! For all that you hold dear, stand, Men of the West! - Aragorn

"Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man will he fall." - Glorfindel

"in Rivendell there live still some of his chief foes: the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power." - Gandalf

WILDing is very difficult, and it will definently require more than one attempt. Try once more.

my advice for learning how to WILD is to pay more attention to what happens when you fall asleep. if you can maintain consciousness as you transition into sleep paralysis, you're pretty much there. so just go to sleep and try to pay attention to what you are seeing (dots or patterns at first maybe, then images, then moving images, sounds, etc).

Yeah well I have attempted WILD a couple of times too. And I get to conciously experienced a couple of levels in the Hypnological Stage:

      1. Colored dots and subtle ambient sounds first.(about 10 minutes after I just closed my Eyes)

      2. More intricate kaleidoscopic ColorPatterns and frequently hearing ever more realistic voices (about 30 minutes after closing my eyes)

      3. Physical ''Sinking away'' sleepparalysis sensation, Colorfull swirls are briefly interrupted by flashes of images, scenes, very realistic voices& sounds and strong emotional abstract ''impressions''

Since at the last Stage I get too Hypnotised and loose conciousness, I was wondering if any experienced WILD practitioner can tell me if Step 4 would leave me right in the beginning of my dream?
I read alot about WILD and also that these ''images'' in your mind should slowly start to form a sort of script and starts a story which will become your dream.

Would that be the Step 4 I need to achieve to land in my dream conciously?

I tried a few times before i got it to work. I used the counting method, where you think to yourself "1, I'm dreaming, 2 I'm dreaming, 3 I'm dreaming" and so on. Start over at 100 if you want. The next thing i really remember was my body really heavy and numb and then i was in the dream and i thought to myself "oh crap, i need to keep counting" and then i realized i was dreaming. You can try that method, it worked for me on my first WILD .

      Ah yes, WILDing=fun.
I play trippy music and fill in the next part of the song in my head to keep my mind focused. I also see multi colored reverse ripples coming from the edges of my eyelids and moving to the center. The closer I am to WILDing, the more intense the ripples become.
