i can't believe that it is possible to actually feel what a drug would do to you in waking life (before acually doing it). However it seems possible that you could have an experience based on your perceptions about a drug. For example you know LSD is a hallucinogen, therefore you take it ina dream and "hallucinate" according to your own perceptions of what hallucinating would feel like. |

I did shrooms in a dream, but haven't tried them in the waking life just yet. |

I smoked crack in a dream, but I would never do it in RL. Anyway, in my dream, it felt like being high off of marijuana, which I have done (and I really don't think crack makes you feel exactly like marijuana, lol). I don't think it's possible to feel the exact sensation of a drug you haven't done (or anything you haven't done for that matter) in a dream. My mind just compared it to something else I've done, and guessed what it would feel like. |

I had a dream only 2 nights ago that I snorted coke. I have never done it in real life. I am an daily pot smoker. What I felt in the dream was nothing like being stoned. I felt the exact effects of what I read coke should do. Basically like a huge adrenaline rush with strong euphoria. It also lasted for the right amount of time and was followed by the crash. |

This is just going to basically be an opinion thread since it will be near impossible to figure out unless you dream about shooting heroin and then go out and do it just for the soul purpose of comparing the two sensations. Which doesn't seem practical. Or mabye somone does do that but then you only really have their word to go on. |

It seems almost everyone has done drugs in dreams. Even I did weed once in a dream (not lucid). I ate it instead of smoking it, and thus I wasn't asleep long enough for it to have any effect. |

Ham Sandwich Theorem: Given n objects in n-dimentional space, it is possible to divide each one in half (according to volume) with a single hyperplane.
This is very interesting, I've also done "hard" drugs in dreams and there was not a shade of doubt, I just did them. But I would not do them in RL... The experience was just weird, I dont think that's how it should feel. |

What a timely discussion... just last night I had a dream that I was shooting heroin (well someone else injected my vein), which I have never done and don't plan on it either. But I remember waiting for the effect to happen and nothing did- I became distracted by my vein which had become weird and was worming out of my arm. |

I have had a dream about being effected by marijuana. But I did not take it myself; there was a large pile of marijuana lying on the ground that got burned, then I got the smoke into myself in the dream. My vision got a bit weird in it and shit, but that is because I think marijuana has an effect like that. |

I have read LSD can be dangerous as it makes one unaware of physical dangers. So maybe that is a good idea. |

Sure, but as long you're in a calm environment with friends it's considered to be a rather "safe" drug. Even alcohol can make you unaware of physical dangers. |

I dont think that you can predict what drugs will really feel like in dreams because the first time that anyone does any drug it is usually nothing that they expected. |

Interesting thread... |

Years ago I had a dream that I was walking down the hallway in my high school and I was one acid. I remember feeling my body all distorted, the sensation of walking was as if gravity was bent forwards and then stretching me around, kinda like a human slinky on acid. Or something like that - it's hard to describe! |

Char I think that your reply was really interesting. I think that If you never have tried a certain drug, but you do it in your dream, then it totally makes sense that the drug would give you insight into yourself about how you are coping with your life experiences. This is because without the personal experience of doing the drug in real life, you are not getting the effect of the drug from the drug itself, or even a memory of the drug itself. Instead you are experiencing what you invision the drug might be like, and how you would invision reacting to the drug. So a new drug experience in a dream is like a test of yourself, or simply a vivid fantasy of what the drug is like. |
