Hello Natelcm, and welcome to DreamViews. If you have any questions I might be able to help you, but I'm not the most knowledgeable person in the field. In regards to thirs person dreaming, I'm right in your alley. Almost all of my dreams are in third person. I've never had a lucid dream, but there are techniques to achieving first person view if your in a third person lucid dream. Telling yourself what to dream before you sleep happens to some people. There's a specific name for it. I wish I was that lucky, my subconcious changes my dreams like a couch potato and a TV remote. Hehehe. I hope you have a great time at DreamViews. And if you have any questions, let me know. |

Yeah i think some people do that ive heard of it a bunch of times so i think its safe to say you are normal. Maybe when you learn to lucid dream you will be able to shift to whichever you like. Although im not to good at lucid dreaming I often find myself in first person and 3rd person dreams. I think its quite normal. Do you ever dream in 1st person or is it strictly third person? |

Welcome to the forum; it's great to have you here. With studies run on the differences between 1st and 3rd person dreams, it was found that 3rd person dreams were relatively more rare. No scientific tests have been run to back this up though a current hypothesis is that it's somewhat affected by self-perspective and personality. |

I can because I know I can.
Interesting, I believe that I dream in a mixed perspective sometimes, that it's both evenly spaced out between 1st and 3rd. Although I am working on my dream recall and will be able to more accuratly tell you in about a week. I've found I have some pretty wacky dreams. |

An interesting fact LunarMoon. I wonder what that says about me, considering almost all of my dreams are in third person. I can't imagine what it would be like to dream in the first person all the time. |
