If something happens in your dreams, like you can lift things with your mind, then is it possible in real life, i know that it defies the laws of physics, but why would your mind give you that ability in your dreams, its like taughting you, that you can only have this ability in your fantasies, but your mind must understand better than you that if you get a taste of something that you like, as a human emotion greed will make you want more of it, so it basically comes down to torture, that your mind is torturing you with things you want, or it could be a test your mind is testing you to see what limits you will go to to get what you want, either way the only way that we will get an answer to this question is when we can better understand the human mind, but truthfully in theory anything is possible, because we know so little about the world and our existance, that there could be things that we could never understand. Like why do we even have dreams, maybe for it to show us what reality could be if we opened our minds, and set ourselves free, because if you think about it there is no evidence to prove that its not possible, all that we have to base our thoughts on are the theories, of people who said these things 100+ years ago, i mean back then they wouldnt have believed that we could have a machine that could access almost all the information on the planet, now we have computers the size of a playinig card, so i dont really trust these people, because each time someone has had a theory someone else in history has corrected it, who says that the reason that we cant do all these things are because these people have told us that we cant, so maybe our minds are holding us back due to things that we have been taught that may be complete rubbish. So i believe that anything is possible, i mean we do not even know about all of our own bodies, let alone life, i mean we only use 2% of our brain, what about the other 90%, just imagine what it could hold, what our full potential. So until we know EVERYTHING we cant dismiss the idea that anything is possible...

I would really appreciate people to post their thoughts about this topic, because it is a very complex one, which may never be answered...

i believe it will never be answered in our lifetime or any lifetime ever. Life is wierd, the very fact that we are here is wierd....i think dreams do let us free from reality for a little bit, letting us enjoy things we cant in the waking world. Maybe one day we will be able to cross the two worlds over. If you have ever seen the movie powder he is an exaple

They qouted Albert Einstien as saying that he believes when we get to the point of using 100% of our mind we will only be energy, not needing our human form. So maybe before we get there other things will be possible but it is impossible to know until it happens

This statement is a myth. It really irked me when my Theory of Knowledge teacher thought it was true as well! I mean, she's supposed to know the facts...

There are several people who attempt to perform such feats every day through reality checks. They become aware that they are not in a dream due to its failing. Therefore there are several people who've actually approached these impossible feats with an open mind and failed and as of yet, even among the claimed psychokinetics, no one has done anything extremely substantial such as lifting a fighter ship out of a swamp while training with Yoda.
As well, these feats don’t simply break the laws of physics; they break all the basic laws, as we know them such as gravity, thermodynamics, and a seemingly unlimited amount of other basic laws that all of our technology is based on.

i understand that there is no proof for it, and the proof against it may be alot, if there is still a chance then its still possible, even if there is a 1 in a 1,000,000,000 chance that it could be possible, there is still that 1, and that 1 should never be overlooked!!!

I don't know if this is the way things work, it probably isn't, but my opinion is that while yes, everything is possible, things like lifting crates are impractical. I believe telekinesis is possible, yet most of us (including me) haven't developed the abiliity because it is difficult and not useful in the real world. I have two theories on this, which explain the reason we can't lift big objects or better, ourselves. In my opinion we do use our whole brain, so it is not a matter of actually using more brain, but of reteaching it to be able to tap into the energies we have inside us in their purest from. Also, I believe that like light, which is basically pure energy, our energies diminish by the square of the distance, and when passing through dense objects (like us), so what takes your body almost no energy (like lifting a pencil), takes much more energy when it has left your body, as the strength weakens dramatically from the passing through your skin and the distance to the object. This I believe is the reason it helps to have your hands close to the object when doing telekinesis (if you can actually do it, not me). This combined with the fact that no one can fully utilize the energies available to us, even though our body is a big chunk of energy, and that energy weakens strongy when leaving the body (kind of like light passing through a filter), cause us to not be able to do amazing telekinetic acts.

Note: I am not saying anything I am saying is fact, I know no more (very possibly less) than any of you, but this is my belief on the workings of the universe.
