      Going Thru The Motions

Part of last night's dream was of me applying hand lotion and I noticed that my hands continued to stay dry. So I repeated the process over and over to no avail. I was aware that I was wringing my hands - the motion of applying the lotion. I was getting frustrated and somehow was between dreaming and waking when I noticed that I REALLY was wringing my hands together as if to spread lotion around on them. The movements of my hands mimicing the application of hand lotion were very fast and jerky before I was completely aware that it was just a dream. I remember being confused as to why my hands still felt so dry in the dream and wrote down that and whatever else I could remember and went back to sleep.

As to my recollection this the 1st time Ive done something of this nature.

Anyone know what this is called?
      Or have similiar exp.?
Is there a thread like this somewhere that I can use as a reference?

No, I don't... but, just having a think about it...

Wringing one's hands, or washing them, etc, is often a sign of apprehensiveness, nervousness... I dunno, maybe something from real life is spilling into your dreams...

I know that's more Dream Interpretation, rather than explaining why your real body is "acting out" the wringing of your hands in your dream, but... huh... sorry, it's the only thing I can think of...
