Thread: my crush and i had the same dream

he's more than a crush to me i've liked him for 4 years, we had the same dream if not it was a very similar dream if not the same. this happend last week about i saw him in a class of mine and he told me "i had a dream and you were in it last night." and i said "Really?! same here you were in mine." and he told me about it and in the dream we were fooling around and i was grabbing his private area." and i said that was in my dream too. and so i asked what else was in his. and he said there was something about a resturant with a lot of people we didn't know. and i told him that was in my dream too. and thats basically all we both remember.
so i just wanted to know what this means? does it mean more than one thing? ever since i met this guy i feel like im supposed to be with him. if that has anything to do with it?

Sounds like he is crushing on you also. You should tell him.

he knows i like him, ALOT but im not sure if he does i dont want to send him running away. but i think it's very weird we had the same dream during the same night.

Sometimes its just funny coincidence. this one time I had a dream and this girl I had a crush on had a veyr simmilar dream that same night. It just got us tlaking about it and such. Fun stuff.

Now, as I'm rather skeptical of dream sharing, here's my interpretation of your dream. The fact that you two had similar dreams suggests that similar things are going on inside your heads - you like him, and he probably likes you. I'd say the "fooling around" part is enough evidence of that. The restaurant could be related to going on a date,since most dates seem to involve dinner. The strangers mean you aren't with anyone else you know, so its not just some sort of group outing.

A piece of advice: don't be afraid to take a risk (like asking him out), because if you never go out on a limb, you probably won't get anywhere. Anyway, if you're pretty sure he likes you, that sounds like more than enough to go on. Good luck!

What about shared dreaming? Does that get as much publicity on these forums as on ld4all? I personally don't believe in them... Then again, alot of people are skeptical of LDing, and thats a real deal.

BTW, take a look-see in the "Beyond Dreaming" section. That tends to be where astral projection, and dream sharing, and all that other new-age crap tends to be.

Shared dreaming is like arguing god, or the soul, or aliens making crop circles, exists: Sure, I can't disprove it, which is a pain in the ass. Then again, I can't conclusively disprove that an invisible, intangible, omnipotent levitating purple hippo lives in my backyard. All of the above are just as illogical, and just as absurd, and have just as much reliable proof backing them up.

Except lesbianism, of course. That's something I believe in whole-heartedly.

i don't think it's that different--you are only certain of its existence because you have witnessed the supposed effects of lesbianism--how is your experience of that any more real than someone else's experience of shared dreaming?

I don't mean to answer for him, but he wasn't taking about himself feeling the "effects" of lesbianism (which sounds pretty silly, anyways), he said "well researched phenomenon." There is hard evidence of it... not just anecdotal evidence... So thus, it is not his experience that is more real than shared dreaming, it is the evidence of it that is more real than shared dreaming (shared dreaming has none).


Anyways... I'm starting to hear a lot about these supposed "shared dreams" when only a couple very broad things are similar. It is not a stretch at all to say that that was a coincidence.

I find it quite amusing that in virtual forum where 95% of us spend our time writing about phenomenological states that are unique personal experiences there people who are so quick to dismiss shared dreaming just because they havent experienced it.
