What makes you say that? Are you saying that you don't breathe in the dream? Because your body is most certainly still breathing while you are asleep, else you would not be here.

As far as I know, I breath in my dreams. Most of the time I'm not actively aware of it, but my favorite reality check (and that of a lot of people) is to pinch my nose and attempt to draw a breath through it, so I think that counts as breathing in a dream.

Well, I usually don't breathe in my dreams, b/c I see no reason why I should. In certain types of Dreams splash and I have, we don't breathe at all, no matter how hard we try (but we sure know of someone who unconsciously is!!).

I breathe in my dreams, I guess that it just depends on the person. Not breathing in dreams would be pretty pointless for me because I like to use my senses in my dreams, so missing out on smell would suck.

This is really strange, TBH i've never thought of it. Thinking, though, don't we all normally breathe and not really acknowledge it? I only really think that i'm breathing, i guess, when I am doing my RCs (pinching my nose + breathing)

I usually notice that I am breathing in a dream, when I am swimming under water for a longer time. I always breathe under water in dreams. But it never turns into LD, because it seems quite natural to me !

I hate it when something so blatently obvious doesn't tip you off. It's like we are all dumb in our dreams. "oh my God! Zombies and blue people!! i wonder if this is a dream? I will check!" * does RC *

Well, breathing is so natural that we usually don't even think about it. I mean, our bodies do it automatically and we can't really control it except to a very limited degree. It's just like walking or speaking. Can you think back to a time when you couldn't speak? Maybe a time you couldn't understand certain things, but beyond that...

Breathing underwater is one of my favorite things to have occur in my non-LDs. I haven't had enough LDs to do it on my own, but it's on my list. Now, I would attribute many aspects of controlling an LD to being like breathing. You don't think about breathing, you just do it. Many people who have control problems are spending too much time merely thinking about what/how they're going to do something. Just do it.

And thus ends another long-winded Amethyst coment.

i agree completely. if i think too hard about something, it is hard or impossible to do. if i just decide to do it, and do it, i have much better success.

Well if you're not breathing while you are asleep then you might have sleep apnea, I'd probably get that checked out because that can be dangerous.

very true! sometimes I kick myself when I wake up for not doing a RC in my dream for things that were obviously only possible in a dream state.

I could see you not breathing in a dream. It would feel really weird but it should be possible. You can dream and not even have a body, so weirder things can happen.

Wait until you try to WILD in a dream... and fail. I've done that twice and neither time worked.

I have done that all of my life, and breathing has never affected it. It just slows way down as I fall asleep, and I usually don't breathe in my LDs anyways, unless of course I want to.
Some of them, I don't breathe at all, no matter how hard I try (the ones where I can tell time and read books)....but breathing should have no effect on LDing whatsoever.
