I actualy have died in a dream about 3 times and it's not cool at all. |

I have come to the conclusion that you can not die in your dreams from talking to various people and from personal experience and readings etc. It seems that when one dies in a dream they see themselves, basically have an out of body experience, or wake up right before the actual death or something happens suddenly to prevent it. Does that mean that if you actually die in a dream you are really dead? just a theory maybe? any ideas anyone? |

The idea that dieing in a dream will actually kill you is just a myth made up by people who have no understanding of dreams. It's completely bogus. |

Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

no offense advendreams, but you dream some pretty messed up stuff. I thought it possible to die in a dream but not when youre Lucid lol. You must not have had a chance to do anything about it |

I can't say I really know anything about what you're talkinga bout , but I said plausible because of that incredibly cool blind spot trick .

No, i have died @ least 3 or 4 times in my dreams... sometimes my body will go into shock or i will feel some pain. So maybe there is some actual out of body symptoms... |

LEAVE ME ALONE!
Thanks all for the comments, I myself always wake up whenever I die in a dream or ressurect after a few moments, so i didn't consider it really dream dying persay but i suppose it is. anyways thanks for the comments thus far. |

Sometimes I awaken, sometimes the dream just sort of pauses, other times I become another person |

It's tough to bring someone back that never really lived.
To begin with, dying in real life because of dying in dreams is indeed bull shizzle. |

I too have died in several dreams. Shot to death, zombies, car accidents ect. Its actually kind of a cool feeling to think you died and then wake up and be okay. Maybe I am just different though... |
|
I have to disagree with the above. What you are saying of death (blacking out) may not be anywhere close to what death is like. That is merely what you think death will be like. No one has seen what death is like an lived to tell it. Yes, a pun was intended. |
|
I must say, this is something i too have wondered about, i have never actually died because i always wake up before hand. |

I had a dream in which I was very old and on my death bed. |

What about people that sleep walk? Or move in their dreams? |

I've died in dreams before, and I'm still here |

Death = Death ... hmmmm, then Life = Life |

Here and there...
[quote]Dream is a temporary death?? Elaborate on that odd assumption. Your brain uses as many calories asleep, as it does when it is awake. |

I have never bungie jumped, but I can do that in a dream |

calmoftheye... you have pointed out exactly what i was trying to say, except stated it much better. it's just a theory though. |

I agree in that if you die in a dream you do not die in real life. But you cant say this for sure. You have to take into account medical conditions. If you have a nightmare you wake up and your heart is beating fast. I would think it possible for something in a dream i.e getting killed to put a strain on your heart causing you to have a heart attack. |
