Thread: DC's as "lucid friends"?

Just wondering if anyone has made friends in lucid dreams? What I mean by this is a person who you don't know from reality who frequently appears within your dreams and has their own personality, etc. who you have made friends with and got to know well.

I was just wondering because I had a wicked lucid dream a couple nights ago where I met a middle-aged woman who I talked to for a long time. Anyways, we got into some sex that lasted ages and then we talked for a while afterwards and it was really interesting and cool. When she left the dream (she left some time before I woke, I just wandered around my house afterwards), she said that she might see me again. Interestingly, she was also lucid and we talked about the dream together and I feel like I learned something from her.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to have a recurring character in a dream? This is my 37th lucid dream since I started in June, so I'm not really new to lucid dreaming, but this was the first time that I have really felt that the character really seemed like an independant entity and not simply something formed from my own mind purely for my entertainment, and I think it would be really interesting to have a recurring dream character as a kind of "lucid friend".

I should add that I'm not aware of ever meeting the same character in two dreams, with the exception of dreams that occured in the same morning.

Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone made friends with DC's that re-appeared in other lucid dreams? I think it would be really interesting to have someone to share my lucid dreams with, even if it is a DC.

Hi MartinB, I've met countless DCs, but they don't reappear in later dreams. Even so, I've gotten to know DCs who are vastly unique in personality. It can be a shame having to depart from them. I don't remember meeting anyone who is lucid in my dreams, but that sounds like fun!

Well, though I am not sure how to answer your question, I have had similar experiences...

I have had dreams about people that exist. In the real world, I scarcely know their names, but in the dreamworld, I am thourally aquainted with them. I don't understand what importance my mind attaches to these people, but almost every week I dream about one of the two people that this happens with. This has been going on with both people for at least two years. I guess I could refer to them as "lucid friends"....I don't see any reason why not...
