My lil theory

.... Well here it goes... While you are truly awake, you know for SURE you are truly awake. But while in dreams you think you are truly awake so you think that you know that your not dreaming. So that I'm saying that right now I KNOW for sure that I'm not dreaming because I'm awake, but if I was writing this in a dream I would not be able to have a lucid dream because I think I know I'm awake... So basically you HAVE to question yourself even while your sure your awake (but try not to be "sure" your awake, and if you are.... PROVE IT!) So umm... I just felt like sharing that with you.

Isnt that something to do with our critical faculty being reduced while dreaming so we just think everythings normal

Pretty sweet theory, I think it's all pretty much true. If you don't question reality when you know you're awake, you're not going to do it when a lephrechaun jumps out of your toilet and starts kicking your ass.

If you are truely confused about this, the only thing that would be able to convince you otherwise would be some kind of intervention of the supernatural, or death, PLEASE dont go commit suicide cause your not sure its a dream or not...there are easier methods of testing if you are awake or not...

this goes back to the nightmare on elm street films. One minute there wide awake and the next there in a dream that seems just as real. Until a madman with knives for fingers kills em.
