Congratulations on your first lucid! (and WILD at that. WILDing took me a long time to get the hang of.) I've never heard of a tutorial dream but anything is possible. Dreams are based on expectation so your dreaming mind just expected it to be like a video game.

Even after 14 years of lucid dreaming I still get the feeling you described of "Wow this is way to real for it to be a dream."

Anyways, welcome to Dreamviews and I hope you get many more lucids!

I talked to multiple people with experience and they were all surprised at how I was able to be successful with WILD first try, and about the tutorial room, I think my subconscious simply thought that would be the best way to minimalize my chances of freaking out and all. Since you have so much experience with LDs, what is your most reliable method of getting into one? I know it's different for people but I'm genuinely curious.

I have used various techniques over the years. For a while, I struggled with WILD but got MILD to work pretty consistently. I would just do the mantra, "I realize it's a dream." over and over while I'm falling asleep after a short WBTB. Later, I learned SSILD as a form of WILD and it worked really well compared to other WILD techniques I tried. This tutorial on SSILD looks pretty good. I haven't tried it in a while and usually rely on DILDs since I'm a bit out of practice.
