Meditation, in many different forms is used to increase self-awareness and clear the mind of distracting clutter. Therefore, I'd say it most certainly can help you become more aware in your dream state. You may even catch yourself meditating within a dream and that increased awareness could make you realize something is significantly different than the waking life, causing you to become lucid. I wish you luck on your endeavors! |

I think it helps for sure, if for no other reason than that it relaxes you (which helps in inducing lucidity). I don't remember off the top of my head exactly what he says, but Dr. Stephen LaBerge mentions the benefits of meditation for lucid dreaming in his book. |

Hi Clidu, I recommend looking into various forms of meditation. Each trains the brain in a certain different way. Which forms of meditation you use effects what benefit you may gain in lucid dreaming. Having a small handful of styles takes care of the time consuming or boring aspect. If you click on the Dream Yoga link in my sig, it takes you to a few good examples. |

Both the long and short term alterations caused by meditation are beneficial to lucid dreaming. |

"Parable.- Those thinkers in whom all stars move in cyclic orbits are not the most profound: whoever looks into himself as into vast space and carries galaxies in himself also knows how irregular all galaxies are; they lead into the chaos and labyrinth of existence."- Friedrich Nietzsche, the gay science, First published in 1882 revised in 1887, translated by Walter Kaufmann [/SIGPIC]
