REM -> Sleep Paralysis so when you are on a REM sleep stage, you don't move.
But there is Phasic REM and Tonic REM, and I guess some micro awakenings inside during a REM period.
I presume your cam/program will detect when you are NOT in REM, but it can give you some clues on where is the REM.
the problem is that you move when you are awake, or when you are in slow sleep or between, or.. whenever....+ you possibly don't move when you are in REM sleep, or when you are in slow sleep, or .. whenever...
You probably should add some other inputs to your system to know more precisely when you are in REM sleep.
Then, you can wait few minutes after you have detected a solid REM sleep and start to play your alarm
