You say you are christian, so here is a dream theory that came to me recently. It came to me because searching for a meaning in my waking life, I realized there probably was no one goal because once you would have accomplished it, what would there be next? You'd be done? So instead, I think life is just an eternal canvas for group experience. We all live together and create memories. It's all about love and companionship. And our relationship with Life (or God). So that got me thinking, what's the purpose of dreams? Maybe, it's just the same, but you're alone. With Life (or God). So, it's just God, spending time with you, putting you in different positions, so you may learn about yourself. So dreams, might not be about connecting with other humans, which we already do in waking life, but possibly about connecting with God on a deeper level, because it's just you and God.
