Residual music on waking from non-lucid dreams

I have experienced this quite often and have only just properly realised that it's quite a common phenonemon on my dream exits.

I will wake from a dream. The dream was non-lucid. The dream didn't feature music in any way, but when I wake a have a tune in my head that is always an original tune, but just a short cycle that repeats itself.

Anyone else experience this? It's quite strange that the music wasn't perceivable in the dream itself, but on waking I know that it was an inherent part of the dream.

Incidentally, I like to write music, but I've never woken with a tune that was so good I considered it to be worth recording.

That's really cool. I have never had this "issue" with music, but I know when I wake up I sometimes feel and hear things from the dream, such as voices with their last words before the deconstruction of the dream.. It's usually from nightmares though.

I believe I've had woken up with tunes in my head, though many of them occur during the end of the dream as well. Many of them seem original and quite awesome, though I usually don't have much luck remembering them for long (the fact that I don't really know how to write or transcribe music doesn't help). Sometimes I find that the tunes are actually related to another tune I know, but manipulated in a way that makes it sound like a fresh, new one. Others just seem completely original as far as I can tell.
