1. No, the point of DEILD is that you don't move at all when you wake up, not even open your eyes (you're lucky if you successfully DEILD after having opened your eyes once). You shouldn't think of it as waking up: more like, staying in that sleepy state--and becoming conscious during this state is the challenging part of DEILD. You have to become aware that you're awake and train yourself to recognize yourself waking up, but you can't move--staying still and relaxed is key! This is important, as doing so will lead you to very very easily fall back into REM to successfully lucid dream. If you end up fully waking yourself up (opening your eyes and moving around for any reason can cause this), it'll knock you out of your sleep cycle and what you'll end up doing is attempting something closer to the original WILD or even a WBTB.
Use some memory tricks if you want to journal your dream for later. For example, invent some keywords in your head that'll remind you of your dream--if cats were in your dream, keep thinking "cats" in your head while you're attempting your DEILD and stick to this word, associating it with your dream. Visualizing your dream as you're doing your attempt is actually recommended for DEILDing, and will also reinforce your memory of it. Then when you officially wake up in the morning, recall your keyword again and you should also be able to remember your dream.
2. While DEILDing or WILDing, the best thing to do is to not think about how you're DEILDing or WILDing. You want to stay conscious and aware, but thinking too much of the process of falling back to sleep will actually only frustrate you and set you back from a successful attempt. Instead, like I said above, think about the last dream you had, and try to visualize it. This may actually lead you to a successful DEILD where you end up back in your last dream, lucidly!
So in other words, you won't know it's working until you enter your lucid dream (or accidentally fall asleep--if you're still awake for a good 10-15 minutes after you woke up, it's probably time to say the DEILD didn't work). Getting to the vibrational stage says you're getting close, but if I had to guess, you're probably not relaxed enough. Remember to stay as still as possible, and try to only think about the last dream you had--don't think anything too complicated, especially not the DEILD process! Let yourself fall asleep, RC in your imagination every now and then, and eventually you should truly feel yourself in the dream.
