      Lightbulb Lucid Dreaming is easy

Before you guys crucify me, think about it. Is it really so difficult? Or do you make it difficult on yourself? I decided to make this thread to give some insight on how I view lucid dreaming. It's all a mind game really, and you're just trying to win. The prize: lucidity. How difficult you make the game is up to you. YOU adjust the difficulty level. Are you gonna make your pursuit a complicated mess and just frustrate yourself? Or are you gonna stick to the methods that work for you, and take each step in stride, each time reaching a new level or goal in your pursuit and then telling yourself "Pff, well that was easy". To me, it's 50% effort and 50% attitude, and my pursuit is coming along just fine, everything just getting easier and easier each day.

The point is, don't set any mental barriers on yourself. You can do this crap, it's easy, and don't let anyone tell you any different. Pick a technique that works for you and stick with it. Watch what will happen with just a little effort and the right attitude.

You can believe that lucid dreaming is complicated and hard, or you can believe that it's simple and easy. I believe in the latter. What about you?

Yup, totally agree. If we get frustrated with seemingly no success, it's just gonna make it that harder. I said "seemingly", because even "failed" attempt is a learning oportunity, that gets us one step closer to our goal.

Keeping yourself happy and focused on the intent, together with practicing is the key.

And no worries, we are pretty tolerant bunch. No crucifictions here. Although sometimes we sacrifice things and stuff.

This post has made my entire day I've had little success so far and I was lately starting to think that I may be making it difficult myself. Someone once said: "believe you can and you're halfway there".

And I agree with gab, no need for crucifictions, we're all good

I already had everything ready for the crucifixion.

Yes, it is "easy". All you must do is realize that you are dreaming. Don't get frustrated, don't overcomplicate things. How can YOU find out that you are dreaming?

I think this is quite important. People with all things in life tend to focus too much on the goal. What I mean is that you will be more successful if you put all of your hopes on your ability to grow rather than succeeding at lucid dreaming. This way, if you are less than perfect, you will be happy that you tried your best regardless, and if you truly do this correctly, the results will come because the pressure to do the seemingly impossible is not there. You can try your best, but success is not guaranteed; therefore make your goal (rest your happiness here) to try instead of to win, and you will win. The pressure is off, and the results appear.

Lucid dreaming is simple, but not necessarily easy for everybody. Like another skill, lucid dreaming is easy for some and harder for others because everybody's different.

The key here is confidence. Being confident in you ability to lucid dream indeed makes it easier to lucid dream. The trick is to maintain that confidence in the face of adversity.

Find out what works for you through trial and error. Once you find out what works consistently it's easy to be as confident as you need to be, even when you're failing, because you'll have a technique that you can practice without having to worry about whether you're going to lucid dream or not because you know you're going to have one soon are based on what's happened in the past.

      Reminds me of this:

      http://www.dreamviews.com/attaining-...eild-hard.html

15 lucid dreams! Ha. Hasn't posted since January, 2012. Guess they slunk away in shame when they found out it wasn't as easy as they thought.

I will be watching your LD count very closely, Omarsito.

Thanks all for the feedback! Just trying to instill some confidence in some people that's having a hard time, that's all, and I was aiming at what Meskhetyw was saying. Don't focus too much on succeeding because you might fall at the first hurdle, rather focus on growing and you're results, whether it be a success or a fail. This relieves you of any pressure and then boom! That's when you start succedding, and you'll start to understand you're path a little bit more and you end up staying on the path, maybe sometimes being frustrated but realizing that you can do it, and that you will. You won't stray from your goal as easily, and before you know it, the experience you've accumulated will immerse and surround you, and you'll look back and see how far you've gone. Why go back now?

As for Mr. DEILD (yea I'm talking about you Bobblehat, lol), I think me and him had slightly different views, but I see where you're getting ha ha. My LD count will go up on it's own, I'm not worried about that but feel free to check up on it from time to time, I don't cheat

In my opinion, this is wrong. It's more like 80% attitude and 10% effort. The other 10%? Patience.

Your point about avoiding the complication of all those techniques is a good one, Omarsito, but that attitude is not always the easiest thing to maintain, and therefore consistant LD'ing might not be quite so easy. Simple, yes; easy, no.

Hmm, we're all entitled to our own opinion so yea, patience is very important too and something I myself need to work on but at the same time, I believe, the attitude comes with the patience. That's just me though, because with the right attitude you wouldn't really need to worry about patience. But thanks for the feedback
