How does a lucid dream feel like? And any tips to enter a lucid?

Hi. I'm a new comer to this site ( and an very excited to meet new people) and still awaiting for my lucid dream. I have always had a interest in dreaming and I have been so anxious to have a lucid. I am still yet to have one and tonight I am going to drink some apple juice to see if I have my first lucid. Anyways I was wondering how a lucid feels. And is it easy to spawn stuff and like do anything you want? Is there dangers? What should I do first? And any other tips on how to enter a lucid. Sorry for all these questions. I'm just so curious. Thanks guys you responses are appreciated!

:welcome: Mextil. Lucid dreaming is awesome. If perfectly stable, a lucid feels almost exactly as if you're awake. Dream control varies widely from dreamer to dreamer depending on their skill of creating the expectation they need in order to get what they want. There aren't any dangers, you're perfectly safe, although a lucid has the ability to turn into a nightmare. You should first calm yourself down and make sure the dream is stable and vivid. If the dream isn't stable, stabilize it by focusing on details around you and saying stabilize while rubbing your hands. Learn about the different techniques (DILD, MILD, WILD, DEILD). Try them out to see what works best for you. Learn from your mistakes and your success to consistently improve. Have confidence and faith in your ability to become lucid. Try your best.

When I first went lucid I felt my entire body surge with joy; it is an amazing feeling. Yes, you have complete freedom. You can do whatever your heart desires :) Definitely, 100% worth all of the work. Trust me.
I would recommend doing DILD for a good month first time around. Practice plenty of RCs and do all day awareness as well. When you go to sleep try mantras like "I realize I'm dreaming." Good luck!

As said by the others having a lucid dream feels great and can be as realistic and vivid as real life and sometimes even more. You can learn to do anything in an ld.

To get started, I would suggest reading about some techniques to induce an ld. I think that the DILD technique is especially good for beginners. (A lot of advanced dreamers also use this technique). Check out the following link which contains the main induction techs:

What does a lucid dream feel like?

Well, first of all it can be as vivid as waking life or even appear even more vivid with intricate details, full emotions, could involve all senses - now not all lucids are that vivid, but they can be. Oh, and sometimes it is so realistic, that one might begin to doubt that it actually can be a dream, and might lose lucidity.

In a lucid dream, you are limited only by your imagination and your expectations and such, but laws of physics do not apply, your dreams can come "true" - you can fly into outer space like superman, or you can date a celebrity, or you can become the wind or a grasshopper - whatever you desire.

In a lucid dream you can ask your subconscious questions and get answers that your conscious mind was not aware that you already knew. You can overcome your fears. You can have empowering experiences.

After my first lucid dream ever I felt an adrenaline rush all day long, and while that is a bit extreme and not common, but generally a lucid dream makes one happy the following day as well. So, yes, it feels awesome.

Are there dangers? Well, no more than in any mental exploration. It is all in your mind. Could you get hurt by exploring your own mind? It depends on what is in your mind already, but most likely not. The only people for whom lucid dreaming is not recommended is people with some mental illnesses, but otherwise it is considered safe even for small kids as long as they are capable of differentiating waking life from dream.

Edit2: I noticed I started my reply with vividness out of some reason, even though technically vividness is not what makes a lucid a lucid, nor is it really needed for a neat lucid experience. What really makes a lucid unique is the sense of conscious present awareness, being there. One can have great awareness and / or control in a lucid dream, but even some low control lucids can be fun.
