      The Pang

I'm not sure if this belongs here, so move it where you see fit.

Of the few lucid dreams I've had, only one of them has been triggered by an RC. The rest has been triggered by a phenomenon I call "The Pang."

It happens whenever the thought of "Hey, this could be a dream." comes to mind in a dream. Basically:

      1. The colors of my surroundings become brighter and more vivid.
      2. A ringing appears in my ears.
      3. I get a burst of energy.
      4. My lower stomach becomes tingly on the left side.

All of this happens suddenly at once, and then subsides until all effects are gone, which usually takes about five seconds. The only constant is number one, with all of the other effects appearing in different dreams at different times.

Is this normal? Does anyone else expirience something like this?

Interesting, it's probably how you feel being aware in dream and becoming conscious, it varies from person to person but i think it's normal.
Also lucid dreams aren't really 'triggered' by RCs. We do RCs in waking life to improve our awareness and to get into questioning mindset, and awareness is what actually makes us lucid. I've had a good number of lucid dreams where i just 'felt' that i was dreaming, very distinctive feeling that i can't really describe, and went lucid.

I agree with what Scionox said, you're just becoming more aware of your surroundings. Very cool though, it's not something I've ever experienced

I also agree with the rest of these guys^

Also I think that's a pretty cool thing to experience when you start getting lucid. It's kind of like your version of the usual 'excitement/giddy' feeling the moment you get lucid. I think many of us get the vivid thing though, where everything becomes a bit more vivid once we get lucid. It's just because we are suddenly aware of being in a dream so we're like WOAH and we start taking in the graphics

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
