So since I had my first successful Lucid Dream this week, I was wondering how long they can last. Can you keep them going all night and wake up in the late or early morning? Just curious. |

You can't keep a lucid dream going all night in the same way that you can't have non-lucid dreams all night. We generally dream during REM sleep, which occurs at the end of every 90 minute sleep cycle. So every 90 minutes we will dream. The length of the REM period tends to start off at around 10 minutes and increases the longer you sleep to say 30 or so minutes. Your dream length is limited to your REM Sleep length, basically. That's why it's easier to remember dreams later on in the night, or in the early morning, because your REM periods are longer and more noticeable. |

Like RDM said, most of dreams, and lucid dreams, occur in REM. There are dreams in NREM, but usually they are not really as vivid as REM dreams, it is possible for them to be as vivid as REM but it can take alot of practice, training and confidence, i am not sure about any actual techniques for it however. |

If your fear that lucid dreaming is extending the time you sleep, don't worry about that. Even with most supplements, you are only increasing the time spent in the phase where you can dream, but that's a normal sleep phase. |

I had dreams where I felt I spent the whole week inside, also I had night with hundreds of short fragments from different dreams. From my experience time dilation is possible, but you cannot do it on purpose. You can slow time a little bit or make it run a bit faster, but to have a completely different time speed you just need to end up in such a dream. Iv read few topics about time dilation on this forum and most people failed to do it on purpose. So as a conclusion for me I think that time dilation is possible, but it comes by it self and we cannot force it. |
