Thread: Can anyone else think really fast while dreaming?

Yeah, I've found that I seem more intelligent in lucid dreams. I suppose the mind works faster, either because you have a more direct route or its less occupied with the physical and only has to do automatic things, such as breathing

Yes this is definitely true..

A lot of programmers use lucid dreaming to solve very complex problems, they will do a lot of work, in a fraction of the time in a LD, then upon waking, transfer it over to waking life!
It's incredible what LDing can really do...

This is interesting. In regular dreams my intelligence is around the same as waking life, but in LDs I'm more or less braindead, I don't even know to stabilise the dream most of the time, I wonder where I'm going wrong.

I can, but only through objects. Like a calculator or computer. Using objects for dream control is my favorite. it takes less dream energy.

If you seem really "slow" in LDs, it is probably from not being fully conscious in the dream. This can normally be solved with practice, WILDing, or increase recall. All should increase general awareness in a dream. Something that I do is set goals that I would love to do, but also things that I might also do randomly in a dream. This should trigger the memory of other goals like stabilize. Constant goal for me is to explore dreamscapes and enjoy the random fun that comes from doing this slowly. Slowing down causes me to think of other goals and I will be checking out exotic dream plants and think about another dream. I only remember to stabilize when the dream is fading, so I just stabilize if I think of it when the dream collapses. If I don't make it or think of it I try for a DEILD. Hope this helps.

I have heard of one person using it for this (from ETWOLD), but I don't remember him doing it for the fast thinking part of it. Where did you hear of lots of people using it for programming?

I've heard it quite a few times, I forget the sources, but one guy in particular from here, or the IRC was talking to me about it.
How he'd do a full day's work in a LD, then transfer it over, it was incredibly useful he said..
Also, I 'think' Hukif does this in forms, not with programming, but with doing experiments..

Well, one of the million reasons

I am not into programming, but I am hoping to use it when studying when I get better at LDing and have need of searching through memories of books. Going through Israel and living the whole Old Testament to try and get a better mental image of the things that happened back then.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I seem to need to work on raising concsiousness, it's certainly there, just in a very weak form. I'm doing a simple goals thing at the moment which is aimed at increasing my ability at it all, I sometimes remember them, so setting them certainly helps.
