It would take a tremendous amount of dream control and a well trained subconscious to even come close to real life. I mean, its certainly possible, but unless you're the ultimate natural, I doubt any would have the patience. The power to change the general direction of a dream is a bit more straightforward, but if you start mucking up the setting and messing with DCs' free will, then its not anything like real life. That said, lucid dreaming can act as a second life and can even be more fulfilling for some. But its probably going to be completely different to waking life. For a start, the subconscious enjoys being as random as possible.
