Was this a lucid dream?

(I hope this is in the correct place :cheeky: )

This happened I think a month ago, but I can remember it goodly:

I fell asleep while watching a lets play of LSD Dream Emulator.
I might been tapping my index finger and my pinky before drifting off, not sure ;p

The next thing I noticed that I was just outside of my room, I walked up to my sister. She was watching this lets player. This is extremely similar to real life.

(Bla, bla, bla, unrelated dream stuff)

At one point I half-woken up somehow. My eyes kept flickering and I could see through my real two eyes (Not my mind's eye). Closing my eyes would carry on with the dream. I think I knew what was going on.
I tried waving at a friend, and my hand could only raise about 1 cm high.
I then knew pretty sure I was dreaming, so I tried spawning something; A dragon :cheeky: . For some reason it turned into some sort of rock Pokemon.

I'm still not 100% sure I was lucid. I never noticed any special effects like I expected, is there? I just need to know for sure before I make a fool out of myself ;) .

If it was not a lucid dream, then it was hypnagogic images, which you get right before the LD. It's hard to tell from your description. Not your fault, lol, since describing these types of events is not easy. And the line between HH and LD can get really blury.

The best way to tell is when you know that you are dreaming, while inside of a dream. In either case, you were on the right path and if not lucid, then very close to it. Keep doing what you doing. Happy dreams:alien:

Like gab said, could have been either heavy HH or short LD, the point at which you half-woken up might have been false awakening, did you actually woke up after that? False awakenings can be very confusing, that's why reality check each time you wake up is important, but even if it was just HH, you were very close. ;)

If it was a dream, it was definitely a lucid one, but the reason why you didn't notice the effects is because you probably didn't stabilize it.
