Stop, drop and roll question.

Hello I am new to Dream Views and I look forward for sharing my lucid dreams once I get them more common ,just call me James, but that's enough of my introduction.
My main reason for posting this thread is because I'm new to lucid dreaming and heard about lucid dreaming for a few months and recently I have attempted to recall dreams and try some methods such as little bits of Mild, Dild, Deld and started Wild. I have recently found a sleep command that is called Stop,drop and roll (not to be confused with fire safety) which is a technique used to say to your mind/body that you are ready to go to sleep as a safety check.
My question is can I use this method to help me to lucid dream like in Wild and Deld to enter sleep paralysis more easier and quicker?

So first of all, SP is a common misconception. You do not need SP to lucid dream. Tru SP, which is body paralysis that we all get so we don't act out our dreams starts after we fall asleep. So unless you have a disorder and you feel SP every night, or it happens like 1-2 in your lifetime that you wake up paralyzed, you are very unlikely to experience SP when WILDing.

What you may get with some techniques, are hypnagogic hallucinations (HH). Those could be all kinds of sounds, sensations of movement or you may see things. Here is an article about different sensations and how to enter into WILD from them. You may or may not get some/any of the HH, but if you do, it's best to just observe them passively.

I'm not familiar with Stop, drop and roll command. But if it's anything like a mantra (sentence you repeat to inforce some thought), then it could work. Why don't you describe it. :alien:

Thank you for your answer and explaining to me more about SP, the Stop, drop and roll is a sleep command, your mind asks your body if its ready to go to sleep by sending a signal to the body that makes you want to turn over in bed, if you turn over your body is saying no, if you stay still your body says yes basicly. I see. It's best not to pay attention to any signals from your body, same way as you do when you falling asleep normally. If you feel like turning, or swallowing, or scratching, do so, without paying attention to it or thinking that it will mess up your attempt. We normally turn and swallow and scratch and still manage to fall asleep, so same goes for when you WILD. I hope this helps. Try the like again xD

stop drop and roll is a form of WILD, it is to help you stay aware while you fall asleep.

Sometimes when I try to WILD, when im in the stage where there's not any thoughts going through my head.. Like, im not asleep, but im not aware of anything, I automatically roll over. I think this is what you mean anyway :?. It's really annoying because I do it automatically :(

When it comes to WILD, the easiest way (for me at least) is to completely ignore the body. Stop, drop, and roll is something the mind does on its own, to "check" if your body is asleep. It's best to ignore these checks (itches/the urge to roll over.) If you REALLY have to scratch that itch, swallow, or roll over, do it. Don't worry about it. Focus on going to sleep. Just let your mind wander, as if you were going to sleep normally, but stay passively aware of your mind's thoughts. Doing an occasional simple math problem in your head is a good way to stay aware. This way, your mind will envision the dream on its own. Maintain awareness and you'll just go with the flow! Simple as that :D
