You aren't used to questioning your reality, the whole point of a reality check is to make it to where your mind is constantly checking for signs of this being real. |

Sure, we all know we are awake. But the trick is, to think even just for that moment, that what if we are asleep. I know, this will become easier, after you had a lucid dream, in which you are 100% sure you are awake, then you RC and it turns out you are asleep. |

I like to use a RC check which consists of me trying to make myself float, it's not exactly fool proof but it works well, it's easier to believe then questioning reality, and it gives rise to cool flying dreams if it fails. How often have you considered the possibility for telekinesis or magical power, or fantasized about them. Personally I've done it tonnes of times and I find it easier to believe than that my reality is lie, however if it does work I know it is a dream. So the ofcus isn't on questioning reality but on making a habit of trying to float. It's also more enjoyable then trying to poke your finger through your hand which takes quite a lot of determination to keep up through the whole day. |

Same with dutchraptor. I like "magic" reality checks which don't require me to do too much physical stuff. An example is I look at an object and try to change its color. Or I try to create a fireball in my palm. I still do physical ones too, from to time time such as the noseplug. |
