Woke up after getting to know it's a dream

SO this night I kinda knew I was dreaming 2 dreams in a row, but immediately woke up.
In first dream I was kinda shocked when I realized it was a dream. The dream was something about controlling events with thought in real life, I thought of something and then bam. Strange feeling, like I was terrified it was a dream. It paralyzed me, I hardly moved and woke up.
Second dream, I subconciously said "this is for sure not a dream". and then I woke up. I didn't even have time to think before waking. In opposition to former, I didn't feel anything.
Something like that never happened to me. So I thought I'd share. I usually think this is a dream, or voice in my head says this is a dream and then I become lucid w/o waking up immediately. I had short lds, but lately (since I started learning ld) I've not woken up from pure thought this is a dream (Well I had, but actually I was being electrocuted in a dream, so that was like waking up from a nightmare).

I just got back from posting in a thread about this issue, the thread is called, "Lucid at the end of REM cycle". I have this to, there were two instances I can recall where near the end of the dream, I all of a sudden realize I'm dreaming. there are no logic triggers, I just realize nothings real. A lot of times though I find myself not caring as much and kinda dissapointed because I was so involved with the dream earlier that I don't even want to wake up or do anything spactacular. i might have been in a semi lucid state but the common feeling I get is apathy upon discovering it's a dream near the end. But anyways your body is starting to wake up, so you slowly gain consciousness at the end and thats why you don't stay lucid too long. Stephen Laberge actually mentioned this half state in a documentary on the discovery channel about lucid dreaming. not the semi lucid half sate but the state of consciouness you gain when you start waking up from a dream. for it usually last about 5 to 10 seconds before I wake up.

When I first started lucid dreaming when I became lucid I would get way to excited and my heart would even start to race from the excitement, this woke me up from my lucids a few times but after I stopped getting that super rush of excitement I was able to stay in the dream and stabilize it.

Not sure if you would have the same problem but it kind of reminds me of it. If so just try to stay calm.

What do you mean exactly? I sometimes got told it's a dream, just because that's what I say in my waking life. I don't think that has anything to do with end of rem.
The first dream I was just shocked. Like I thought everything's real and then it's a dream. Second dream even stranger, I didn't have a moment of awareness, I just woke up.

I don't think that's the case. In first dream, yes it was kind of overexcitment but why. Why it scared me off it's a dream and paralyzed. I've had over ten lucid dream and I don't usually wake up immidiately after realizing it's a dream. And in second dream, I didn't even had time to feel anything, I just automatically woke up after saying "for sure it's not a dream).

I think I misread your post, when I first read it I thought you were talking about becoming lucid right near the end of your dream. usually when we find our selves in a long dream, the analytical part of our brain starts waking up while the dream is still going so we suddenly realize we are in a dream then the dream ends shortly after. thats kinda what I thought was the case with you but apparently it's not after a second read.
