Sensing dream and physical body symoltaniouly or the most EPIC false awakening EVER

I can't remember the rest of the dream but I remember thinking OH MY GOD I'm dreaming before the dream quickily starting disintegrating and I felt my physical body before I realised what just happened I could still fell my dream body and sense the landscape and quickily tried to shift my conscious back into the dream but this failed and I opened my eyes because it was a school night and I didn't want to over sleep. Why did this happen?

It sounds to me like you got too excited when you realized that you were having a lucid dream so your emotions caused the dream to disintegrate, remember to control your emotions when dreaming you can't get too excited and also you were slipping out of the dream in an awakened and conscious state which is why you were caught between dream and reality.
