Question concerning a beginner in LD techniques

Hello everyone. I have a question. I am not new with Lucid Dreams in general , I know what they are and I've experienced alot of them ( for me , 20 is lot :P ) , but most of them were at young age , maybe 13 to 15. If I go back and realize what did I do in my dreams basically it was sexual and ended quickly because of excitement so I realise it is dream wasted. Dont blame me for doing it I was young , and puberty just hit me hard I guess. So , now when I'm older ( currently I am 18) I try to do other stuff in my dreams. So now to come to my question , basically all I do is try to prepare myself at night for lucid dream and if I wake up after one dream I write it down in my dream journal... So which metod do you think that is best for me? I really dont know about the techniques for LD's . I do know some of those that help you stay in a dream ( spinning around , calculating numbers, and one that I've read today about focusing on your hands).

Dream journaling and mentally preparing yourself for lucid dreaming are both great techniques to keep your dream-consciousness active. I'd definitely recommend the "reality check" technique (referred to as RC here on the boards). For me, reality checks and journaling together create semi-frequent lucid experiences.

There are quite a few methods you could use for LDing (i.e. DEILD, DILD, MILD, WILD, EILD, and a couple more). As for which one is the best, it really depends on the person.

DEILDing is easier for me because I'm almost always aware when I'm about to wake up from a dream, thus I instantly tell myself to stay still and focus on reentering the dream. I don't think it's a method I'd recommend for someone who's just now started to look up into techniques, unless you can naturally tell when you're about to wake up. Now, if you already keep a dream journal and are willing to combine that with doing reality checks during the day, then the DILD technique might be just the one for you.

I'd have to ask you a bazillion things to give you a proper insight on this, and even then it wouldn't be a hundred percent accurate. I can tell you this, though - skim through the wiki (it's up there on the top of the page) and check out the tutorials. You're the only person who can actually know what's best for you. Read the DILD tutorial, the DEILD tutorial, the WILD tutorial, any other tutorial, really, and see which one fits you best. I'm pretty sure they've listed the pros and cons to every one of those methods, so you can have a pretty good idea as to which one you'd be more comfortable with.
