      Thumbs up

Im rather new to lucid dreaming. I have been trying to obtain a lucid dream for about a month now. I use several tapes that are to help lucidity and have been also learning and practicing WILDS. I have had several lucid experiences but not a full fledge lucid dream. I have realized several times in my dreams that I am dreaming but I awaken soon after this realization. My most vivid lucid dream didnt even seem like a lucid dream. I was laying on my bed and I felt something crawl into the bed with me. My first thought was that it was the dog. But I soon assured myself it wasnt. My dog could never get off the ground she is way to old and fat. I realized it was a human because they wraped arms around me. I could feel their face get close to mine. I felt someones warm breath. It was so realistic it made me open my eyes. No one was there and I was in my room but I could still feel the arms and the breath. I closed my eyes again and I felt lips brush just above my lips. they kissed me sort of. I opened my eyes again and the feelings vanished. It was more like a ghost kissed me than a lucid dream and it felt very strange. I know it must have been a dream but I know I never fell asleep and I didnt ever wake up. After this encounter I have had 3 nightmares in a row. I will put my dream journal entry I just wrote.

      10/1/06 (8PM) - 10/2/06 (12AM) + Update
      ● I have had three disturbing nightmares in a row. I have just woken up from the third. The first was of my dead mother telling me to clean the house. She made me feel worthless and at the end of the dream, she transformed into a corpse that was strangling me. In the second dream, I was a woman and Adolf Hitler was having sex with me. It was disgusting in the dream but for some reason I didn’t object. His lips were very chapped and are the only detail I can remember now mostly because I have tried to block this dream out. The last dream that I just woke up from was perhaps the most disturbing. I am trying to exorcise several objects in a room. The devil is within all of them. One of the most disturbing is a sheet covered in satanic symbols. Earlier in the dream is harder to remember but I think the items are possesses because of my direct actions. At the end of the dream I find myself in a state of falling asleep. I am still battling with the devil but I feel like he is overpowering me through the objects in the room. I fight the temptation to fall asleep in the dream but it is impossible. I awaken while reciting prayers.

I dont want to go back to sleep. I am actually scared to sleep now. Please does anyone have any advice. It seems so silly for me to be scared. I am not the type of person to be frightened. This isn't a feeling of fright but of an overall sense of dread and terror. Is it the pursuit of lucid dreams that are causing these nightmares or is it the fact that I am getting in touch with my dreams again and now I have cobwebs in my mind to clear out. I have even had a thought that the devil himself is attacking me. That sounds silly I know but my constant reasurance that is silly doesnt make the feeling go away. Thanks in advanced for any advice. I am probably going to linger on the board until the last dream fades a bit from my memory

Oh and the reason I got interested in lucid dreams was because one morning I was in sleep paralysis and I didnt know what it was. I looked online and found the answer plus stuff about lucid dreaming. I dont know if thats relevant but the incident with the entity kissing me was more like sleep paralysis than it was a dream, But I could move.

Many people say that they still feel the dream after they wake up. I really didn't have an experience like that yet, except I have had many false awakenings. So maby you weren't really awake when you still had the feeling, in that case one of those reallity checks could help, maby pinching your nose and trying to breathe through it, everytime you wake up.
About being too scared to go asleep, I know that feeling. All I can say is just fight it and try to sleep normaly. I know how frightening nightmares can be. I don't know what could trigger them, maby some stressfull recent events? I haven't had any nightmares caused by trying to lucid dream since I started, I think they might just appear randomly, lucid dreaming isn't probably the main thing that would trigger them. I really have no idea .
That's all information I can provide, I know it's mostly speculation, but don't worry others will tell you what to do, since they have more experience.

      Anyway, welcome to DV!

thanks for your input. I know feelings can linger because I have felt that type of thing. The kissing entity was different though because I didnt wake up and then feel it. It was like a WILD without being asleep or something. It has made me so uneasy. Im jumping at little creaks in my house and stuff now. Geesh I feel like im 10 years old again. haha.

YAY when I finally willed myself to sleep I had my first LD that wasnt one second long. I Flew and really fast. I remember my ld's from childhood and I always sucked at flying but not this time. I flew better than neo. It was awesome. Then I summoned a DC and played with their apperance like it was playdough and then I woke up suddenly. I have some questions now. WHy was my DC so stupid. She was like a doll and not a person. she just stood there starring blankly at me. Is there some way to instill intelligence to people you make, or is it easy to call real people into your dreamscape. also, how can I stop myself from randomly waking up. I didnt even have any signs it just happened.

even though nightmares are terrifying, they can really help you obtain lucidity due to the intense fear you get. My first lucids started due to the prospect of a tornado touching down.

learn to train yourself to DEILD,, it's your best bet at having chained dreams.
