      First experience

So last night I read a bit about lucid dreaming on 9gag (a random silly stuff page). Anyway I decided I'd never try lucid dreaming because in order to achieve it you have to go through sleep paralysis, but I accidentally tried to wake up at the same time I realized I was dreaming and tried to not wake up. The result was sleep paralysis, a shady robust humanoid form standing next to me, I panicked for a second then stayed calm I could close my eyes back because I tried almost instantly after opening them. So then I tried to get back to sleep, felt the figure go the other way around the bed standing there for a second and then it was gone. Since the worst was over I decided to give lucid dreaming a shot so all I had to do was move my body, and then the magic happened.

I will try to describe this as best I can. I was out of my body, I knew I was dreaming but I couldn't control all aspects of my dream. For some reason I had a baseball bat in my hands, I tried to make it on fire, but nothing happened. Next thing I tried was hitting my body sleeping in the bed next to me to see what would happened, I succeeded but felt nothing, so I moved to the hallway and saw the bathroom door opened so I tried to make it explode, it didn't work so I moved it with my mind instead, that worked. After that I went into my roommate's bedroom she was awake so I tried to show her what I could do by closing the door from afar. She didn't seem to fully understand so I started chocking her like Darth Vader from Star Wars. And there I realized I was waking up, I tried to remain in the dream by asking myself "What am I doing?" but by the time I could answer I was in sleep paralysis with my eyes closed again. This time I knew better and decided it was time to wake up so I moved my arm first and then after, and only after then opened my eyes.

Sorry for the long post but it's my first experience and I'd like opinions and advice to be able to achieve it again. Thank you!
