Setting dreamscape default

OK, So I have set this goal for myself to make a dreamscape default. My plan is to create something like a home base or starting point for my dreams. I planned on it being a large light orange prairie, with a purple sky and light green clouds. Don't ask why it's just an awesome idea for me. But the big idea is to be able to transport there whenever I become lucid, and make it kind of like safe haven or just a familiar place to enjoy in a dream. Let me know what you think. Any ideas stemming off of thisfeel free to share.

It sounds like a great idea. Sometimes it can be so overwhelming when I become lucid, I don't even know where to begin. I know people have said that you should have an idea of what you want to do once you're lucid, and trust me I do, but when it all actually happens I'm usually just left kind of stunned. It would be great to be able to quickly visualize a familiar territory and sort of stabilize the dream further by going there. In theory it might also help you stay lucid, because you should realize you are in your familiar lucid dreamscape if you suddenly begin to lose lucidity. Definitely going to try this

Definitely going to try this I'm the same way, I'll get a plan and once I become lucid I get too distracted. I actually came up with a solution to that. If you do RCs just incorporate a little saying reminding you of your current goal it has worked for me. But yea it may take a while to set up the default, but with time and practice it should get nice and stable

I like it, I want to build cool astral/LD temple and start all my good LDs there. Nice. I also plan to use this default to formulate a dream for WILDs and such. I want it to be a starting zone for my LDs. I just thought of this while typing just now, it would be cool to have an "in dream, dream journal" kind of like a library of dreams. So that you can repeat a favorite dream and stuff...just a thought, What do you think about that?

DCs living there evolve, grow old, new buildings are built and the place evolves just like a WL world would. This sounds so fascinating to me. Have your own "home away from home", a safe haven. If anybody knows how to do it, please share. And the library of cool dreams sounds really cool too. Happy dreams

I have heard of people building their lucid environment and returnig to it in subsequent LDs. The environment doesn't stay the same. DCs living there evolve, grow old, new buildings are built and the place evolves just like a WL world would. That's pretty cool, so basically your dream scape default ages as you do. Interesting.

Interesting thread, My LD 's have always been in the same places, I figured it was a normal, at least for me. I actually compiled maps and descriptions of each "zone" in my dream world, Some places are from when I was a child and some newer, so it is ever growing. Each can be reached from the other by some means of travel, so it is very similar to this world in the fact it has distinct geography despite that flux that occurs in some zones. These places include huge cites, desert wastelands, oceans, ruins etc. The majority of buildings are dilapidated and abandoned, some times with unpleasant guests/entities, so it can be a very creepy setting,

I have a cave that is my safe haven I still didn't visit it in a lucid, but i'm working on it's look, furnishing in my mind usually before falling asleep. In my next lucid i plan to check it out finally... i'm sure it's designed well enough for now.

This sounds like a really cool idea. It sounds a bit hard to me though! I'd like to make a cabin in a deciduous forest with a lake nearby. A pet wolf would be necessary!

These places include huge cites, desert wastelands, oceans, ruins etc. The majority of buildings are dilapidated and abandoned, some times with unpleasant guests/entities, so it can be a very creepy setting, Wow, that sounds quite stable. Have you ever worked on creating it? Or how did form? Any idea? Have you tried "rebuild" the run down neighborhoods? Do your LD powers work in these places? Do you have control? How about DCs? Did you ever ask them what is that place? Sorry, lots of questions.

I have always had control once i figured out how to LD. but its more of an understanding that, when i dream i am in another world, I guess that mindset opens the flood gates for massive creation, some within immediate control, others are more gradual. It has residents, good guys and bad guys that range from helpful and companion-like to aggressive and malevolent. The districts( as i like to call them) all reflect the DCs in some way. The more run down and dilapidated, the more mysterious and possibly threatening the locals. My control is more effective in certain areas than other, "comfort zones" I have only had one nightmare in the last 20 years, But i don't mind the dark gloomy areas, they provide suspense and mystery. This place is huge, i mean larger than any distance i have traveled in waking life. Its hard to explain the detail, I am going to take classes in art just so i can get handy st sketching . I am currently trying to get back to the realm that is underneath the one i am in most of the time, its a fluctuating randomness of landscapes and buildings, and very exaggerated scenery (I.e a huge giant that looms among a massive clock work, curiously following any who enters his cave with his eyes.) The things that has intrigued me the most is the story lines that slowly develop in this world, stories that started when i was child and new ones. The Dcs all play pivotal roLls in this. SO far i have found 3 "guides" that provide me with information about events and other DCs, I never put names to them, just faces and locations. How did it form and why? i would have to sit my child version of myself and ask. I have one tip, more of a "reverse engineering" But it is the only way i was able to structure my dreamscape ,and it helped me to be able to travel at will, to any location. I sat down with a pencil and paper, and wrote a small compass in the middle, from there i was able to remember where the districts were, the direction they were and the distances from each other geographically etc. I already had the dreamworld for my LDing, however this might be of help for the creation of a new one.

Any ideas stemming off of thisfeel free to share. I actually did just what you are talking about here, and interestingly enough my "home base" is quite similar to what you are planning on creating. It is a field with teal grass, purple sky, blue clouds, pale green mountains in the distance, and a forest just at the horizon. A field or prairie is perfect for this type of dreamscape because it is easy to spot and looks uniform from a distance, which makes it easier to create than a more complex landscape. Plus, if you come crashing or falling into the dream (which has happened to me before) you don't have to worry about dodging trees or buildings. I created my dreamscape out of necessity. I am a natural lucid dreamer and began having them at a very young age. Eventually, I realized while in a lucid dream that every aspect of the dream was within my control and of my creation. As soon as I realized this, the entire dreamscape began swirling around me in a chaotic blur. Every time I became lucid after this, the dream would immediately destabilize and began swirling like this. Eventually, through trial and error I learned how to coalesce the chaotic swirls into a landscape. I created this homebase dreamscape so that I could stabilize the dream without having to reinvent the entire universe, so to speak, every time I became lucid. And, who hasn't wanted to see a purple sky? I haven't been back there in many years now that my LDs are much more stable and I like to see what interesting landscapes my subconscious mind creates. I think you should definitely try building this prairie in your LDs. I would start by visualizing it often in WR. When you are in LDs, try to find a way to erase the landscape you are in or to go to a void space. When you are able to do this, start building your prairie one feature at a time until that specific feature is stabilized.

I really like your post. I think it's a great idea to take drawing classes so you can sketch out your dreamworlds. I hope you will post them on DV. I asked about control, because I wanted to know, if this place feels to you like your creations, or maybe someone elses creation that you visit. I have read someplace that if you don't have control, perhaps the place you are in is someone else's world and he set up rules that you can't override. That was certainly my thought. That stable of a setting sounds like an actual place. For those of us who can believe or stay open minded about actually leaving your own head during a dream, this make good sense. Travel to established dream/astral locations is possable. Those locations may look a bit different each time, but over all themes and structure stay the same. In the large city I have often visited, a cathedrial sits on a flat hill and the university is below that in the valley, while the casino like place is floating on the oppisite side of the valley. Each time the imagery may shift, but the overall lay out stays the same. Some will find it crazy for me to say "it is more likely that Ryman is APing to a established location, then it is for his own dreams to be so stable." That is a hard position for me to back up, but it is my take on it.

I have done this before. The trick is to memorize the layout/everything about the place. If you don't have it memorized, it would be much harder to achieve. Visualize it in your mind and if you're an artists then draw it out! Let us know how it works out and best of luck!
