      Did I accidentally WILD?

Okay so here's the abridged version. Prior to going to sleep, I was out golfing from 9am to 3pm, after which without any hesitation I jumped into my shorts & t shirt and starting pumping iron. I was quite hungry afterwards. If you can imagine, this ran my body into the ground, so come 10 pm I'm ready to go to bed - I feel it drape over my like a blanket. So here I am lying in bed slowly drifting off to "lala land" when I notice something weird ( two things actually) I'm seeing a pattern like image of metal walls riveted and feel like I'm staring down a long hallway; all while simultaneously scratching my leg in bed. I knew I was in my bed and was still conscious enough to know I hadn't fallen asleep but i was seeing images in front of my eyes - nothing like the third eye description but actually in front of me. All of this was happening while I lay still in my bed. I didn't feel it going anywhere and I was quick to start looking around the room again, then I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

So, my question to you all is: Was this some pre stage to entering a WILD? Or was is just some hypnotic imagery I was experiencing?

I really would like to get back to this state as I feel after a year of nothing (literally squat) I've just been thrown a small bone.

      Meep.

I'm not familiar with the term WILD, but from my experience your describing what I've known as split-screening. Essentially your awake & dreaming at the same time. I usually experience this when my alarm starts to go off. I know it's going off, but stay in the dream a while longer if something interesting is going on. While I'm deciding what to do, I often will have a layered image. Seeing both the dream still occurring & my room. You can achieve the same in reverse, but it's much more rare.

Cool! well hopefully I'll find my way back to this place sooner than later. I think the most obvious reason is that I was dead tired. Normally when I go to bed, I'm still a little active inside.

      Meep.

I did this too a few days ago. I managed to keep my focus on the imagery and after a while I was completely in the dream world, giving me my first proper lucid dream!
