Hehe, good questions, I would love to know answers to these and many more, too. I guess that's why I love lucid dreaming so much - gives me a chance to talk to my higher self, which I think is my soul that has all the knowledge I accrued during all my incarnations, and I suspect it knows lots more

I think some dreams can be in our heads, but I really like the idea, that when we dream/OOB, we visit different planes of existence, that are as much real as our waking world. Aborigines of Australia believe, that the dream world is the real world and the waking world we see as our reality is a dream. Happy discoveries

Whether the dream world is real or not depends on what your view of "real" is. Most people would say that the dream world is as real as the normal world, because you are able to experience it with all the same senses as you experience the normal world.
But if your view of "real" is when something can be experienced by multiple people the same way, than you could consider the dream world to be not real.
      Its a philosophical question really

Why we only use 30% of our brain when we are alive?
I don't know but I guess its because we only use the parts of our brain that we really need at moment. Why would a computer use 100% of its CPU when its just loading some webpages.

Lastly why you could sense people when they walk into your room?
Again I have no idea, but it could be due to the aura of a person that you are able to pick up somehow or it could be that your subconscious picks up the sounds and then communicates it to you in the sense of a weird presence.

Sorry for not providing any real answers... well I would say they were real answers

If the dream world is real, it is a complete mess. I imagine it must be like a public minecraft server. People log in, blow something up, and log out. Never to be seen again...

I had a discussion with a friend about this some time ago.
It turned out our definition of "reality" wasn't really clear.
If you ask someone why dreams aren't real, they often tell you "because they don't affect me".

I argue however that this is not the case.
If you have a memorable experience in a dream, your brain will go as far as to rewire itself internally in order to remember it.
Your decisions are partially based on your memories, including the ones from your dreams.
So dreams to affect you, and going by that definition they are then to be considered real.

Either it would be one hell of a mess, or our perception of it is so vague that it turns into one hell of a mess after the brain is done turning it into something that we can perceive.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

Dream is a reality. Just as real as the one you see before you.

The only distinction I make between the dream world and waking life is that one is within your ability to control and the latter is a co-participation between you and everything else that inhabits it - one man(or woman) can make all the difference but it's dependent on how people around him react to it.
Sure there are laws and rules that govern everything from gravity to society, but people seem to always find a way to enact change whether it's toppling racism or taking to the skies.

Ladusence summed up my thoughts on the brain activity.

As for sensing people when they walk into the room, could be the slightest vibrations in the air, be it sound waves, heat senses etc, our bodies are bombarded by so much information that we aren't actively aware of, I love how humans have developed new tools for communicating information telepathically across the world via internet etc and all in the palm of your hand.

The humans only use 70% of their brain thing is a myth.

As to whether the dream world is real or not, eh, maybe it is. And hey, maybe the waking world is even real. Or maybe everything is an illusion. You never know. Seems to me, though, that the more useful assumption is that whatever you're experiencing is real, because if it isn't it's not like you really have anything else to go on. This is probably why I care about remembering dreams so much. Dreams are just as 'real' to me as any of my other fallible memories of my subjective experiences; they just tend to make less sense when I think about them later.

Lucid dreams really make you think about the world around you. Before my first experience with sleep paralysis, I never noticed just how many sensations I had experienced, but ignored.
