Angry HUGE awareness problem, I could really use some help here

I have a big problem in lucid dreams, and that's my awareness. In lucid dreams I always have a very low level of awareness. In almost all of them I don't even recognize the fact that I'm dreaming, rather that I'm in an altered state of reality where I can control things. I have also thought that DCs aren't actually DCs, rather that they are actual people in the dream.

I have tried just sticking with lucid dreaming to solve this problem which didn't work. I have tried stabilization, shouting for more clarity, saying, "This is a dream" , I have even tried daily awareness. None of these have worked and I'm really getting frustrated.

If anybody has any suggestions or ways to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

During the day try to increase your awareness, to what you would want it to be like in the LD. Maybe do MILD or autosuggestion before bed, that you will be MORE aware. Just try to practice with your surroundings in waking life, being in control of them, knowing what is going on, etc.

I know you said you tried it, but try more daily awareness. Check out king yoshi's all day awareness tutorial. http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/all-da...gyoshi-113253/

Try spending a half an hour right before you go to bed doing very little. During that time be very aware of what's going on around you.

You might also try doing math problems, that works for me sometimes.

157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

My normal (DILD) lucids are like yours. Low awareness, some control, but no awareness that DCs are DCs. I've had my 3rd WILD last night, and for the first time I had full awareness that the people I was talking to and interacting with were DCs. Maybe awareness comes with Induction techniques?

      Agreed with Erii.
However, if you've been trying hard for a long time, perhaps a break would be best for you. Just two days would suffice, just not even worrying about dream recall. Get some great sleep and go back at it after that.
On the other hand, how long are you keeping at these techniques for? The habit of keeping up your awareness (for me) doesn't kick into my dreams until two weeks after I first start it.
Have you tried Puffin's SAT Technique?

Try using as many of your senses as possible, smell objects such as the grass or the air, feel objects like the ground while your walking, notice every detail that you can, or hear everything around you.

You really shouldn't let it bother you. The best you can do is redouble your efforts in questioning reality after your break but try really hard not to get frustrated. Lucid dreaming and almost everything about lucid dreaming relies on positivity (Dream control, for example). Try and look at it from a new perspective. I understand it can be frustrating, but normal dreams can be just as awesome as lucid dreams, try and enjoy them too.

I'm no expert at this, but getting frustrated is probably the worst thing you can do. Either try taking a different approach, chill out and let things take their course, OR just take a break. Good luck though. =]

Try being skeptical and aware in bursts throughout the day. Be more aware at random times during the day and reason out to yourself why you might, or might not, be dreaming. If you aren't dreaming, then give reasons as to what your surroundings would be like if you were in fact dreaming. Rationally thinking about this kind of stuff can help raise your awareness because you're taking information from your surroundings and trying to make it into explanations for which state you're in.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

A sense that I try to raise its awareness is the "seeing" sense. Basically I just look at what I am doing all day or most of the time.

      Good luck .
